The Red Rocket, as it is affectionately referred to by the staff at Kenny Brown Performance, is a blazingly fast, brilliant red, highly improved version of a 1997 SVT 4.6L 32-valve V-8 Cobra. It has faithfully served as Kennyıs personal car and as new product introduction platform. The Rocket has been featured in a multitude of enthusiast media always receiving rave reviews.

The Rocket first appeared on the cover and feature story in the September 1997 issue of Motor Trend as the new Kenny Brown C-4S Cobra. It was also the cover story of the October 1997 issue of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords in a toe-to-toe shoot out with a new C5 Corvette. The Kenny Brown C-4S Cobra bettered the Corvette in all aspects of performance.

Super Ford magazine tested it in the November 1997 issue where it posted its best 1/4-mile time of 12.4 seconds, with famed drag racer Barry Shepard at the wheel. In 1997, it appeared as a featured vehicle at the Fun Ford weekend in Norwalk, Ohio, the Milan Ford Weekend in Milan Michigan and at the Brickyard 400 Fan Appreciation Day in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In1998, the Rocket was transformed into a Kenny Brown 289 Cobra RS. With its 4.6L engine fortified and enlarged to 289 cubic inches, the Rocket is the first contemporary 289 Cobra. The Suspension was also upgraded to AGS 5.5 featuring Kenny's exclusive "fixed strut" front suspension and the new upper control and lower heavy duty rear control arms. The "fixed strut" offers the most advanced front strut suspension geometry ever offered in a Mustang. The Kenny Brown 289 Cobra RS is by far the most affordable ultra-high performance, semi-exotic supercar in the world with over 470 horsepower, superb handling, eye-popping brakes a absolutely impeccable manners.

The Kenny Brown 289 Cobra RS started life with a five star review on the TV series Motorweek. It participated in Car & Driverıs 0 - 150 - 0 cover story for the August 1998 issue, where it was ³the unanimous favorite among the modifieds as the best daily driver, scoring a full five stars for drivability²; The Rocket was also featured on Speedvision in the Car & Driver 0-150-0 coverage.

The Rocket has been further updated to Kennyıs Œ99 spec 289 Special S package with more power, better handling and other performance upgrades.

The Red Rocket has benefited from Kennyıs constant attention and tuning, and has established itself as a very significant and desirable vehicle for both collectors and enthusiasts alike. This is a real powerhouse of a performance car with thoroughbred linage and ³star quality notoriety.
