I hate to see the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the New Beetle that is currently occurring. Like all Volkswagens, New Beetles need to be loved and cared for, and not placed in unloving hands. I hope this page will encourage others to rescue unloved New Beetles.

Leasing Companies

A local leasing company has placed these two white New Beetles into
automotive slavery. I feel their pain every day when I drive by them. They are
rented to unloving, uncaring, wanna-be owners who abuse them and return them
to an unloving home among foreigners ( Fords, Chevys. Hondas...). I hope one day
that they will be rescued and returned to the life that they deserve to live!
STOP THE ABUSE! STOP THE ABUSE!
STOP THE ABUSE!

Newspaper Advertisements

This advertisement for an Ohio Ford dealership came from the  Pulse Journal newspaper, December 1, 1999.  This same ad has been running for months.  Obviously they are trying to ride the coattails of VW's success.   A response from them is they can't find a buyer. Asking too much I bet!  Sure would be nice if they could spell!! ad12-1-99.jpg (25944 bytes)

Unfortunately, this is a common site in newspapers around the U.S. This advertisement was in the Cincinnati Enquirer on December 6, 1998. USED New Beetle prices range from around sticker price for a well used New Beetle, to $7,000 or more over sticker for a low mileage USED New Beetle.

Be sure to remember, if you buy a used New Beetle you DO NOT get the full factory warranty. The factory warranty to for the original purchaser only. So, in essence, you are paying too much, and getting a lot less. Don't get suckered!

I have seen Pizza Delivery, Sub Delivery and now this . This VW is on the road in the Orlando International Drive area. These pictures were taken at the FX99 collectibles show last weekend.(January 16&17, 1999)

Also saw a white new beetle painted as a baseball. Red stitching around
the edges.

If this siting doesn't give you reason to boycott businesses that abuse the New Beetle, you need help!! Save the New Beetle!

Pokmon Attacks the New Beetle!

On July 29, 1999, Thomas P Rauen shared this horrible abuse:

"Thought I'd share a photo of another abused Beetle I saw when i was picking up my new GLX."

Hot Mosquito Sucks Life out of Beetle!

This was spotted on Ebay on May 21, 2000. Needless to say it received no bidders and the seller has been referred for counseling ;)

It comes with a giant, very sturdy (but easily removable), metal mosquito – representative of the exploding mosquito in their TV commercial – mounted on back. This car features: *Factory air condition *Power steering *Power 4-wheel ABS disc brakes *Power windows *Power door locks *Power mirrors w/defog feature *Remote locks *Cruise control *AM/FM Stereo Radio with tape *Tilt & telescope steering wheel *4 air bags, two front and two side *Height adjustable front seats *Fold down rear seat *Remote rear hatch and fuel opening *Variable interval windshield wipers *VW’s high-end alarm and Immobilizer *16” Premium wheels *All season radial tires with a full size spare *“Primus cloth upholstery *Rear reading lights *Full floor mats This car is just like brand new.
