Several years back, a group of riders decided to get together and form a club of motorcycle enthusiast who like the idea of a brotherhood that was lacking in the local area.
In 1993 the constitution and the by-laws for the PLAINS DRIFTERS M.C. was formed. We like to think of ourselves as a "family oriented" club with bonds that reach far into the aspects of unity and the camaraderie of brothers in the wind.
We should not be confused with the HIGH PLAINS DRIFTERS who are from out west, but we have met out in Strugis and partied with them. They too are a good bunch of people.
The first fund raising event ever for the club was a party and poker run for the HIENZERLING FOUNDATION for severely handicapped children. With over 150 riders showing their support we were able to collect over $5,000.00. The party ended at a local watering hole smack dab in the middle of town. (See pic below) (Guess we should've told the local authorities what was going on, but they left everyone alone.) A small town with a population of less than 7,000 isn't used to such a take over. (Hell, we didn't know it was going to be so big!) From then on we have held other benefits and runs for other things, like the local senior citizens center. (I actually think the little old ladies enjoyed watching the wennie bite contest!)
As the years past, we have become a club that has a number of supporters. We would like to thank the following clubs and people for their support for the PLAINS DRIFTERS MOTORCYCLE CLUB. |
