Other People's Cars

This page was originally a Skylark and Omega page, which I created in the Fall of 1995. The new X body page will cover all of the X cars; however since I am more familiar with the Buick and Oldsmobile X cars, you will notice more emphasis placed on them in this page. If people with Phoenixes and Citations send me information and photos on their cars, the page will then be more catered to all of the GM X body cars. Right now I don't have much material on them. I hope you find the page informative. (Last update 7-15-99.)

Should you have photos. stories, links to your own car's homepage, or whatever, send 'em along. I'll put them on here.

If you have stories, photos, links, or other ideas to improve this page, please send me e-mail. Please also write me should you have any technical questions about an X car or any other GM car. I may not have the answer, but I will try to help or at least point you in the right direction. I'm not as familiar with the newer GM cars. I'm also pretty knowledgeable about Chrysler rear wheel drive cars, especially 70s models, so you can write to me about those too if you'd like. I'm not a mechanic, I just like cars & have put in a lot of effort to learn to repair them.

I'd really like to make other pages for some of the other GM cars I like, such as the 78-81 RWD A bodies, 77-85 B bodies, and the 80s FWD A bodies, and others, but I don't have the space here on the web site to do it.

Having an older car makes you learn about how to fix it. I can't just leave the car at a shop somewhere to get fixed for every little thing and then somehow make it to work that day. I had to just do things myself. It seems with an older car you can go 6-8 months with nothing wrong and then 3 things spring up at once. Also car knowledge is useful if you need to make a long trip somewhere. These have been my motivating factors for becoming interested in fixing cars. Fixing the Buick made me appreciate it a lot. That is how the making of this page started. Hopefully if you have an X car you will find interesting information, good technical advice, or gain some appreciation of what you have.
