siata13: Am I in?

jesmith54: Yes

jvanwellen: I am in to

jesmith54: Can you see his ID?

siata13: Cool, I'm Dano from Daytona Beach Florida. I can see 3 of us

jvanwellen: yes i see siata 13

jesmith54: This is hard work, yes 3. Some more will come at 11:00

siata13: jvanwellen, where are you from?

jvanwellen: To siata13 iam from Antwerp Belgium Europe

jesmith54: I must use the WC , be back.

siata13: Do you have many of the SIATA's over there?, jvanwellen?

jvanwellen: In belgium i find 3 adresses the last 2 just one week ago

jesmith54: Have you met Jurgen from Belguim yet, he has joined the Club.

jvanwellen: One of the last one was Jürgen Weytjens

siata13: Jim has mentioned him before. Do all of your country's cars have the fold down windscreens?

siata13: Jim, if you're back we have jraeltd from Germany wanting to join in.

jvanwellen: The other one was a man 30 miles from here he has his siata 2 months he imported him from the U S A From nevada

jesmith54: FYI, I am keeping a watch to see if any want to join in. jraeltd? I will try to get him in. we may have to start a new room, I hope not.

jvanwellen: Only the siata s from 1968 have widscreens ho can fold down

siata13: I thought that getting rid of the folding windscreens after 1968 might have been just a regulation just for the USA

jesmith54: Not sure how to add him to my list, do you know. I can not find him

jvanwellen: The 68 siatas have 2 clocs on the dashboard all the laters have 3 the third one is the RPM

siata13: It sounds like it must be the same for all of us around the world. Do the 1969 and 1970 models have any difference besides the extra 3 digits in the car serial numbers? I'm guessing that they are the same besides this.

siata13: jraeltd from germany responded once, and has not since. He must be gone.

jvanwellen: wath do you main with the serial numbers

siata13: In this country the 1968 models just have a 4 digit number that means the number built. ex. 1359

siata13: The 1969 models added a letter and a model year before the number built. Mine is A693347. The 1970 models added a build month and year along with the letter and model year. Example 969A703622

jesmith54: You guys chat here, i will chat with Charley in some where.

siata13: I don't know of any differences between the 69-70 models, in the body, interior, or anything else. What color Siata do you have jvanwellen?

jesmith54: I have a wood dash, but it appears to not be stock. Does anyone know how to tell?

jvanwellen: original he was green mettalic now HE is in dark red mettalic

siata13: Jim, do you have a metal plate that identifies the four switches still on the dash?

siata13: jvanwellen, I think that Siata had 4 original colors. Red, green, white and yellow. I don't know of any colors that the factory had.

jvanwellen: Mine was also in wood buth now i make it in with leather

jesmith54: I can not remember, and it is covered for winter.

jesmith54: The gauges are also in wood, different from the dash.

jesmith54: Mine was white, but I painted it silver with black fenders .

siata13: They dropped the wood dash after the 1968 model. Mine is all plastic with imitation wood inserts. A picture is on the main site.

jvanwellen: i have the 4 names and numbers of the colors

siata13: Also, although I've never seen it, ORSA bought the rights to produce the Spring after SIATA went out of business. ORSA actually produced a two-color model like yours Jim, from 73-76

siata13: jvanwellen, what do you mean about the numbers of the colors?

jvanwellen: i send by mail almost my information to Carol

jesmith54: I was told that they only made them 2 years but sold them 3 or 4 and the title number is the only way to tell what year it was made. They added larger tail lights, seat belts, high back seats to pass USA saftey standard. Dano, you know about that.

jesmith54: My car has the holes from the small tail lights!

jesmith54: Also they added running lights to the sides of the car for Import to the USA.

jesmith54: jvanwellen, do you know Ron Cox from the UK?

siata13: Yes, that is why I think the 69-70 have no differences. They also dropped the wood dash and added door locks and lowered the engine to 817 cc's. I believe that they all had the front side running lights, and added the back side running lights. I love the look when those side lights are on!

jvanwellen: EATH color original have acolornumber exampel BRITISH RACING GREEN ---- Duco 195.1798/300.1798

jvanwellen: Those side lights are in Europe forbiden

jesmith54: I think can save this chat on a file or disk for Carol. She asked me to. Where is the gas cap on the Euro Siata Spring?

siata13: jvanwellen, where do you find those color numbers?

siata13: Sounds good. I think the euros had the gas cap in the engine compartment.

jvanwellen: no we have the gas cap on the same plase like aech other siata

jvanwellen: buth ihave sea on a picture on yahoo fotos a siata with BIGG lights on the back

siata13: I've seen a picture of an early one that actually had it inside the engine compartment. Some other Fiat's have them there also. I've looked on my engine firewall and it has a cut-out that would go right into the tank if the tank had the opening there.

jesmith54: The photo I have from Abarth Sales Corp. the gas cap can not be seen. Also do you know any one who has the Abarth Exaust System option. Mine has thw cut out to.

siata13: Do either of you know if Siata made the automatic transmission? I've seen a photo of that too. It must have been slow.

siata13: Did the abarth exhaust have 4 separate pipes from the engine ending just before the muffler system?

jesmith54: And the Hard Top, I have never seen that. Did you see the new Photos I put on the site the morning? They are from John Rush from Germany. Not sure about the 4 pipes, mine has that. Do not know about automatic.

siata13: John Rush was the guy trying to get on earlier. I have a picture of the ORSA model with the two colors and the hard top from an auto show.

jvanwellen: Iff thier are in the U S some FIAT 850 SPECIALs then you goth maybe luck because the motor and transmissionfrom that FIAT are the same when you find one of thoese you have luck

siata13: Also, my exhaust manifold ends into a single pipe right after exiting from the head. I know that the engine is original.

siata13: Can either of you find the engine number on your engine? I haven't seen the photos from John yet.

jvanwellen: Jes if you can copy john sea hello to him from JACQUES and LISIANE pleas

siata13: One important item I can never find is the windscreen washer pump. Do you know of any replacements???

jvanwellen: Yes the number of the motor is into the blok just onder the exhaust

jesmith54: Yes I Will, and I will get his E-Mail for you right now.

jesmith54: [email protected]

This is John Rush E-mail

jvanwellen: THE windscreen washer pump is on your left side onder the dasboard

siata13: The number on my engine is on the head. If you look down right under the oil-filler cap and to the right of the distributor. A letter 'S' is followed by my serial number 3347. It may have not been on the 1968 models in that place.

siata13: The windscreen washer pump on mine is on the dash and between and just below the speedometer and the center gas/temp gauges. It had a round rubber face at one time that you just pushed to pump manually. But the rubber has broken for many years. How about yours Jim?

jvanwellen: IF yuo need parts like tath you can cotact ron cox he have a lot off spare parts

siata13: I also have 4 lights that surrond the center gauge. One is for the turnsignal, the other is for the emergency brake, another is for the 4-way blinker flasher and I think the other indicates that your brakes are out of fluid. Again, I think that this was part of the regualtions for the 69-70 models. I'll have to call Ron Cox...thanks.

jesmith54: Yes the same. jvan, check the e-mail you gave Yahoo to get a Yahoo ID and make sure it is the same one that you gave the Club when you tried to join. If different , it will not let you jion. Do it after we get done. That may be the reason for the error-not valid message- FYI

siata13: Oops, I was mistaken. I have 3 lights surrounding the center gauge. Emergency brake, 4 way flasher and the brake fluid low indicator. The center gauge has 3 lights inside it. One for the blinker, the other for lights and the other for high beam headlights.

jvanwellen: now is everithing oke igone give you the e-mail adres from RON COX it is siata.ukreg.roncox

jvanwellen: sorry wrong buton try agian
