VOLKSWAGEN MK4 GOLF VR6

Story by Noor Abrahams

Pictures by Steve Beheler

The pictures here doesn't do this car justice. Some love it and say hate it. But whatever you decide, one thing remains constant in everyones' mind - this car has been MAX'd to the limit! The car belongs to Steve Beheler who previously owned a Mk3 Jetta VR6. When this Mk4 VR6 approaches you are immediately taken by wide Konigseder bodykit. This transforms the car's whole appearance from being the daily driver to the track runabout! What also makes this car awesome is the addition of an Oettinger sports grille as well as Oettinger electric mirrors. The rear is 'classy' by any standards! Those chrome twin exhaust tips really have alot of the room to roam around and enhance the VR6 roar of the engine. Unfortunately I do not have any more information available as to suspension setup or even what lurks beneath the bonnet except to comment on the body and wheel configuration. Steve went all the way with the wheel configuration comprising 19inch BBS LM wheels! Now if you think of how massive it looks in these pictures, you definitely will be shocked when seeing these in the flesh! Steve has since sold off the wheels and now the car rides on Porsche Cup 1 wheels which have since been black powder-coated. It still looks awesome! The rear of the car was enormously enhanced with Hella clear tail lights and also the front US-spec bumper swopped for a European-spec unit. The headlights are also H4 European-spec items. So much is the attention to detail that everything on this car just about spells out the amount of time and thought which went into the creation of this beast you see before you. The car originally was bought new and was fitted with a KAMEI grille and projektzwo 18x8.5 wheels. Thereafter it underwent a major revamp with inspiration from JE Design with a complete bodykit and finished off with OZ Mito wheels. That then was swopped for the Konigseder bodykit and the BBS LM wheels. At one point Steve fitted projektzwo cup mirrors which really suited the Konigseder bodykit. At the moment, still much work awaits the Golf VR6...
