Škoda 440/445/450 -mallit tulivat Škoda 1200:n jälkeen. Voimansiirto ja moottori olivat pääosin samat kuin edeltäjässä. 440 oli halvin ja suosituin malli, 445:ssä oli isompi moottori ja 450 oli avomalli; nämä mallit eivät olleet kovin yleisiä. Luulen, ettei Suomessa ole yhtään 450-mallia jäljellä. Aika monet sekoittavat 440:n Octaviaan, joka tuli sen jälkeen.

Škoda 440/445/450 models came after Škoda 1200. The transmission and engine were basically the same like in the predecessor. 440 was the cheapist and the most popular model, 445 had a bigger engine and 450 was a cabriolet model; these models were not very common. I think none of 450 models are left in Finland. Quite many people mix up 440 with Octavia, which came out later.

Ennenkuin kuulin tämän auton tarinan, luulin, että näin voi käydä vain saduissa; Jari Putkiranta osti tämän Škoda 440:n vanhalta mieheltä, joka oli ostanut sen uutena. Hän oli ajanut sillä vain 800 km vuodessa, ja sitä oli aina säilytetty tallissa. Autolla oli ajettu vain 30.000 km!

Before I heard the story about this car, I thought this can happen only in fairy tales; Jari Putkiranta bought this Škoda 440 from an old man, who had bought it as new. The man had used the car only 800 km per year and it had always been kept in a garage. The car had done only 30,000 km!
