1974 Ford Escort

My First Car.  Bought used just after I passed my driving test as a seventeen year old.  A wonderful car,  vinyl seats,  no carpet, just rubber floor mats, the smallest 1100cc engine that Ford made.  Acceleration from zero to sixty in just under 30 seconds (27 seconds if I remember correctly) and a top speed on 85 mph ( or 87 downhill on the motorway with the wind behind me and my right foot flat on the floorboards - I know I did it regularly).

 The perfect car for a seventeen year old with a very heavy right foot and a limited budget - almost impossible to get into trouble in a car like this one and all I ever had to do was put petrol into it every once in a while.
