They called it the 912. It had a type IV motor with 10.5:1 compression, and a long duration, average lift cam. The reason they didn't call it aircooled was because it had a second oil pump which had the sole unction of circulatng the oil thru a huge oil cooler. This was the only way you can somewhat reliably run that kind of compression on an aircooled ("oil cooled") engine. I have fabricated a simililar system on the typeI engine in my bug. No detonation roblems thus far; but it is still winter. We'll see what happens come summer. With the high compression ratio; my 1641 has taken many a 1776 and my friends 1835.
