Rover P5B information...
A brief synopsis
The Rover P5 was in production from 1959 to 1967.
In 1966 the famous Rover 3.5 litre V8-engine was introduced in the P5B (shown above).
The engine was developed from a Buick V8, and some people say that is why the V8 model was called the P5B.
There were 20,600 P5Bs produced in total.
A P5B can be recognised by...
- Magnum type wheels finished in chrome and black
- The "3.5 LITRE" badge on the boot lid and rear edge of the front wings
- Fog lamps accommodated in decompressions in the front wings
- Gilded metal badge in the centre spine of the radiator grille
- Twin tail pipes (sometimes)
- Chrome body side mouldings incorporating indicator repeaters
- The sound, a distinctive "90o V8 burble"
- Rather impoverished looking owners
