      ENGINE: Water-cooled 4-cylinder O.H.V., transversely-mounted. Exhaust emission control devices. Bore 2.78 in. Stroke 3.2 in. Displacement 77.9 cu. In. (1275c.c.). Compression ratio 8.8:1. Develops 58 b.h.p. at 5,250 r.p.m. Maximum torque 69 lb./ft. at 3,000 r.p.m. Fuel System: S.U. carburetor fed by rear mounted high pressure S.U. fuel pump. Fuel tank capacity 10 U.S. gallons. Lubrication System: Common sump for engine and transmission. Oil capacity 10.25 U.S. pints (16 U.S. pints with automatic). Cooling System: Pressurized closed system with expansion tank. Pump, 11-blade cooling fan and thermostat. System capacity 8.1 U.S. pints with heater. 

TRANSMISSON-MANUAL: Clutch: Single-plate diaphragm-spring with hydraulic actuation; clutch diameter 7 1/8 in. Gearbox: Four speed all synchromesh. Floor mounted gear shift lever. Final Drive: Final drive through helical spur gear to front wheels; drive casing in unit with engine and gearbox. Overall Gear Ratios: First 12.89, Second 8.10, Third 5.23, Top 3.65, and Reverse 12.93:1. Road Speed at 1,000 R.P.M. in Top Gear: 17 m.p.h. 

TRANSMISSON-AUTOMATIC: Four-speed fully automatic transmission with torque converter. System is controlled by selector T-bar mounted centrally on floor, with seven positions --reverse ®, neutral (N), and drive (D) for normal automatic operation, together with first (1), second (2), third (3) and fourth (4) positions for manual operation or override if desired. Overall Gear Ratios: First 10.12, Second 6.96, Third 5.49, Top 3.76, and Reverse 10.12:1. Road Speed at 1,000 R.P.M. in Top Gear: 16.5 m.p.h. 

STEERING: Rack and pinion; 3 1/8 turns lock to lock. 

SUSPENSION: Front: Independent with levers of unequal length and "Hydrolastic" displacers inter-connected front to rear. Swivel axles mounted on ball joints. Rear: Independent with trailing arms incorporating "Hydrolastic" displacers inter-connected front to rear, auxiliary springs and anti-roll bar. 

BRAKES: Dual hydraulic braking systems employing self-adjusting disc brakes at front and drum brakes at rear. Front disc diameter: 8 in.; rear drum diameter: 8 in. Centrally positioned hand brake lever actuates rear wheels. 

ROAD WHEELS: Ventilated disc-type wheels with 4-stud fixing fitted with Dunlop 5.95 X 12 C.41 heavy duty 6-ply rating tubeless tires. 

 
  ELECTRICAL: Positive ground 12-volt system. Combined ignition/starter switch.. Electrically operated two-speed windshield wipers. Twin horns. Twin stop and tail lights incorporating flashing direction signals and rear reflectors; emergency flashing warning lights. Sealed-beam headlights. Interior courtesy light with integral switch automatically lights when doors are opened. 

INSTRUMENTS: Speedometer and odometer. Water temperature and fuel gauges. Warning lights to show low oil pressure, dirty oil filter, generator not charging, headlight high-beam, direction signals operating; emergency flashing warning lights operating; also brake pressure warning light with test switch. Manual choke. Manual windsheild washer. All instruments and switches set in no-glare padded dash.

 BODYWORK: Twodoor, 4-seater sedan of all steel unitary construction.  Heater/defroster with high-speed blower standard (except Hawaii, Puerto Rico), fresh air ventilation.  Adjustible bucket seats with head rests in front, full width bench seat in rear with pull-down center armrest; seats are foam padded and covered with top quality washable Ambla.  Deep pile fitted carpet throughout.  One piece hood with safety catch, enclosed 9.5 cu. ft. trunk with counter-balanced locking lid.  Full width package shelf under dash.  Curved laminated windshield.  Wind-down door windows with hinged front vent windows; hinged opening rear side windows.  Padded dual sun visors.  Wide, rear opening doors fitted with armrests and recessed interior door handles and positive lock door latches.  Inside and outside adjustable rear view mirrors.  Spare wheel and jack housed below panel in trunk.  Safety 3-point seat belts on front seats; lap belts in rear. 

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:  Radio,  front grille guard, rear deck guard, convenience kit which includes: front rubber floor mats, door scuff plates, doorsill protecter plates, cigarette lighter, walnut gear shift handle.
