It's been the best commuter bike I've ever owned. Just got the `92 to replace the aging `86. I'll let you know what I find as I get more miles on the bike. |

TX, NM, AZ, NV, CA, OR, WA, BC. I put 15,000 miles on it in three months. I live in Texas and ride it every day. I wanted a sport bike b t found them to be uncomfotable for the long trip. Buying a big cruiser was out of the question. I wanted a comfortable sport bike. I dream of owning an R1 or GSXR 1300 (and probably will once I graduate, Masters of Architecture in 2000) but I will alw ys keep my CB750. Great bike. Father of the sport bike. |

I mean real good. But, there is one catch. It has no speedometer or headlights or anything. I was wondering if anybody knew of a place to get a used piece or do I have to buy it new from onda which isn't cheap. Other than that the bike looks and runs great. |

What you hate about the Nighthawk: No center stand. Short chain life. | Comments: Bought in '92 -- last one at the shop. Used it for the next year and a half to commute to work 100 miles each way. Fantastic ride. It was difficult to maintain and adjust the chain without a center stand. Have gone through three of them so far and it eeds another. I see from the other posts that a centerstand is now available. Will one fit on my '91? Do I have to get it at Honda? Dropped it right after the 450 mile check while being careless on a Southern Cal freeway. Almost no visible damage. W s able to ride it home. Had a cow at the price of brake levers and windshield frame that were bent. The other guy's insurance company thought I was trying to pay for previous damage but I hadn't had an accident before nor have I since. Great ride. I u e Widder heated gloves and a winter suit when needed. |

He wanted $3000 for it but I got him to take $2000 cash. It is the most awesome thing I have ever owned. Very low mai tenance, awesome looks, overall great bike. My 91' looks better than alot of 1 yr old Nighthawks out there. My brother has a 93' and I always have people guess the years. They guess about 92' for his and 98' for mine!!! I love it. The centerstand is a must. I have cruise control but don't use it much. My custom corbin is pretty nice and the seams match the red paint, but I actually think the stock is more comfortable. I have fairing but I feel that it takes away from the Nighthawk's personality. I o clamp it on for those cold mountian trips... I will never part with my Nighthawk. |

Don Verbeck - 09/18/99 01:01:15 My Email:[email protected] Your CB750 year:: 1999 Color:: Black Mileage:: 350 Your favorite accessory:: Centerstand What you love about the Nighthawk: Its simplicity and reliability What you hate about the Nighthawk: Long engine warm-ups | Comments: Bought a used '92 Nighthawk back in '97. Enjoyed it very much. This year I was looking for a new machine. Rode and investigated the Honda VTR1000, the Suzuki SV650 and the 1200 Bandit. Guess what? With regard to overall ride satisfaction, ease of maintena ce, and proven reliability, I settled on another Nighthawk. Quite frankly, the common shortfalls others complain of don't bother me. The rear drum brake is adequate for sane stopping duty. The single disk up front is fine too. The suspension is OK; even f I had the ability to adjust compression and rebound damping, I probably wouldn't. Other than the centerstand, I'm keeping the bike completely stock. I'm not smarter than the Honda engineers who designed the bike and as I've learned on past motorcycles w en you start tinkering with jet kits, aftermarket exhaust, fork springs, rear shocks, and over-priced seats, you usually end up frustrated and poorer. And even if you believe you have made performance improvements, its probably just in your head or margin l at best. So fellow Nighthawk owners, for best enjoyment, keep it stock! |

What you love about the Nighthawk: the old classic style What you hate about the Nighthawk: the rear drum, needs another disc up front. and the fact that she has no helmet lock and an odd shaped gas tank. | Comments: i bought the bike used when she had 20K miles. she has been running like a dream all this time. i have had her for a year and 8 months, and the only complaint that i have ever gotten from the motor is the carbs. they have clogged up on me two time, with t e fact that i change the air filter every 4K miles. that is the only problem, other than that she is a great and reliable bike, not only for begginers. i have also been canyon blasting with her and if you know how you can keep up with the bigger and more harper handling bikes. i just dont like the odd looking gas tank. |

What you hate about the Nighthawk: The exhaust system | Comments: This is my first motorcycle. In one year I have put about 10,000 miles on it-I bought it used. Someday I may buy a different kind of bike, but I will always have memories of the good times I have had on my Nighthawk. |

I love the smooth power and nimble handling-- which will improve even more when I add Progressive Suspension goodies! No way to beat the "bang for the buck"! Only bike I'd trade it for would be a CB13 0 IF Honda ever decides to import them!!! |

Loved it ever since. No problems. But I need your help... Someone rear-ended me recently while I was on my good old 92 Nighthawk. The bike appeared o.k. at first, but seems to have a bent frame. I'm looking for ammo to use against the other guy's insurance company when they offer me too little to total it out. How much did you buy yours for? If you know where I can find other ads or sales, I'd appreciate it. Ride safe! |

After the MSF course I started shopping and loved the NHawk, but I really didn't want a black bike. On the way home one Sunday I was telling my wife how much I love the NHawk, but I really wanted a red or yellow bike. The road took us past the local Honda dealer, which was closed, and I caught a glimpse of something yellow through the showroom window. After plastering my face to the window - there it was - a yello 96 with 170 miles on the odo. Bought it Monday and never looked back. |

What you hate about the Nighthawk: Cold natured, difficult seat removal, inconvenient helmet locks on early models. | Comments: Bought this 92 model in August, 1997 with 738 miles on it. Honest. Center stand is a must. Engine guards are a nice, inexpensive addition. Vista Cruise was easily installed. Eclipse Fastpack seat pack and P-38 saddle bags install like they're made spe ifically for the 1991-1998 Nighthawks. Tried Hondaline windsheild and sent it back... directed all the air at my helmet. Looked at leather Corbin saddles at the Honda Hoot. Realy want one for Christmas. |

This weekend for the first time I topped 80 MPH. With the windscreen, the effect on the handlebars was disturbing. They seemed to v brate. Without it, the wind pressure was overly personal (as in awesome). Can anyone tell me if the fairings have a similar effect on the handling? Please email. |

Wish it had shaft drive instead of the pain in the butt chain. Still I like the way it runs and the overall size of the bike. Will keep it for 5 years then probably trade it for a Valk Tourer or a Wing. Maybe just keep it as a 2nd. bike. |

I've never encountered any dead spots off idle once its warmed up, and I find the stock suspesion OK. Will be investing in some Progressive fork springs soon. The only tro ble I've had with it was installing the Hondaline rear grab rail. What a pain! All in all, a fantastic value! |

I love the yellow color, great ride. Sad story, I went down on a slick streetcar rail in the rain. Surprised how little damage the bike sustained, at least visually. Also surprised that the bik was driveable afterwards. Clutch lever didn't break, and gearshift was still operable. But the silly little gearshift lever is $55 to replace, and the left exhaust is $260! |

I knew I wanted a red one, and 95 was the only year they made em red. So I searched for her and bought her new. She's stock for now until I can save up some $$ for a front fairing, center tand, case guards, possibly a jet-kit.....but the $$ adds up. First thing first, she's gonna get her fairing soon. My friends have all ridden her and are continually surprised that the Nighthawk has the power that it does without sacrificing comfort, whic most sport-bikes lack. I would like some more acceleration, but for now I wouldn't trade her for nothin. |

Britt Cain - 01/05/98 17:32:26 My Email:[email protected] Your CB750 year:: 1993 Color:: Blue Mileage:: 4500 Your favorite accessory:: National Cycle Plexifairing III What you love about the Nighthawk: Great bike for the $$$ What you hate about the Nighthawk: Cold blooded | Comments: Bought mine new in October 1996 for $3700 from a dealer. It is totally dependable, powerful, and comfortable around town and on the highway. It can cruise at 70 mph with no problem. I'll be re-jetting soon, with a K&N filter to smooth out a low rpm lean spot, which should smooth it out. The center stand is a must for lubing and adjusting the chain. I installed engine guards, and bolted highway pegs to them, and I can cruise the highway comfortably, except for the seat which gets uncomfortable after 100 miles or so. I'm hoping to buy a orbin seat this spring. |

All the other bikes in the price range of this bike are underpowered for a guy of my build (6'2" - 230lbs) The 750 is quick, nimble and generally a blas to ride. I am planning on adding some modifications to the bike: fairing, K&N filter, new exhaust, re-jet carbs and saddlebags for a little bit of touring. IMHO this is the best beginner bike, yes it is a little big for some riders, but it is smaller t an it looks and the engine has plenty of power so you won't tire of riding it when you become a little skilled. |

Comments: Corbin seat made an enormous improvement, I tried and liked the National deflector screen but prefer my Rifle Sport fairing. A Vista Cruise throttle lock really makes the long trips easier. This bike is great for daily commute (40 mi) or 200 mile trips. Favorite rides are 05:00 AM on country roads at 70-80 mph. Home for breakfast after 100-150 miles. |
