Story by Mark Norton
This year's show was, in my opinion, one of the best yet, as far as quality of vehicles and presentation were concerned. There was something for everyone.
The Friday night set-up went off without many problems at all. The entrants had no problem with the "new rule" (all cars must be driven 50 metres into the show). It was great to see the reaction on some people's faces when the "boys and their toys" drove into the show area! Rain on Saturday didn't deter the enthusiasts. The crowds were a little bit up from previous years on Saturday, but evened out on Sunday.
It is hard to say anything about feature cars at the show, because there were so many. "Big D" Dawayne Baugus, with his 1997 Camaro was the first display inside the door, and went over well with the crowd. Also young Norm Stewart, with his blown 392 Hemi powered Datsun was a real eye opener. What can you say about Rod Hadfield's 'T' coupe? Rod was ecstatic that his 'T' won 'Top Street Rod'. I don't think I've seen anyone so excited in all the years I've been involved in the sport!
Some of the 1st placed trophy winners from the Show were:

Len Gillings, 1932 FORD Victoria
