Their coating, when applied to old or new exhaust components, inside and out, will considerably extend the life of them, and improve their appearance. There are also a number of other benefits to be obtained. The Jet Hot coating can also be applied to other applications than high temperature components, such as is shown in the photo at right, of John Lynch with his 351 Windsor, which is going into a street rod John is building. All the components on the Windsor, including the block, heads, manifolds, in fact, almost everything is coated with Jet Hot Coating! (The engine has the appearance of being all aluminium). Coating the Windsor in this way will give it a corrosion protective barrier, and will make it easy to keep clean.
On arrival at the factory, all parts are coded, before being baked in an oven to remove all grease and grime. The parts are then placed in blasting cabinet, where they are blasted with an aluminium oxide material, inside and out. They are then given an initial coating inside and out, and dried at 110 degrees. After re-coating they are moved to a larger oven, and are baked at 650 degrees F for 45 minutes. After allowing the parts to cool, a special clear coating is applied over the baked on thermal coating. Further baking takes place, and then the parts are allowed to cool slowly. All stages of the process are thoroughly checked for overall appearance, coating thickness and consistency, and electrical conductivity, which plays a role in corrosion protection.
