Dry Lakes Racers Australia (D.L.R.A.) would like to invite anyone interested in Speed Trials to participate in the 1998 event, to be held from March 1st until March 7th. This event will be held at Lake Gairdner, SA. Lake Gairdner is the largest dry lake raced on in the world, offering the best atmospheric conditions (air density) and far exceeds the famous Bonneville in Utah, U.S.A. Any type of self propelled vehicle can be entered, racing is conducted on a 3 miles straight line track, and timed for top speed. Entrants can run as many times as they wish, and more than one driver can participate in any one vehicle, as long as they have joined D.L.R.A., and entered the event.
International visitors will be in attendance, especially from the U.S., N.Z. , England & Japan, observing prior to participating in the 1999 event. The D.L.R.A. has been working hard with the S.A. Government to get Speed Trials organised on a regular basis. We have the greatest racing surface anywhere, Insurance & Paradmedics are finalised. The D.L.R.A. has the full support of the American based Southern Californian Timing Assoc, who have supplied us with timing equipment.
Be a part of history, and witness one of the greatest National resources Australia has to offer, 50 miles wide and 100 miles long, it is a must for any speed enthusiast. Entrants will need ot be self supporting, although basic items are availabe from Mt. Ive Station nearby. Pre-entries are a must, along with your joining fee, which lasts a lifetime.
