Issue No. 14 July 1998

This page is a new addition to our regular newsletter items. Recently we have been receiving more communications from international street rodding bodies, in particular the Canadian Street Rod Association. This has come about due to our exposure through our Internet web site. The CSRA are staging a comeback in their country, with an enthusiastic board of directors making an all out effort to increase CSRA membership, and benefits to their members. We have agreed to reciprocate with publishing of items in each of our national newsletters, so we can look forward to reading more of what is happening in Canadian Street Rodding in the near future.
Canada
Al Cook of CSRA recently e-mailed us to let us know that their Canats event is happening in July. It's short notice, but a great offer, so if you are travelling to Canada soon, why not visit CANATS! Here is Al's message.
"If there are any Australian Street Rodders planning a trip to Canada in July, we would be thrilled to host them at our Canadian Street Rod Nationals held in Sarnia, Ontario (approx. 3 hours from Toronto). We are expecting upwards to 3000 cars from Canada and the US. The exact dates are July 16-19. Let me know and we will be sure to show our down under colleagues a good time! Al Cook".

The organizers of the Regional Nationals for Cleveland, Qld, in 2000, have targeted overseas street rodders as potential entrants to the event. As a result of this, ASRF members with friends in the US and NZ have been encouraging them to come over and join us at Cleveland. Many Australian street rodders travel to the US and NZ to attend their Nationals, and we would like to have more international visitors join us for our ASRF events.

Mr Gary Jones
ASRF State Director,
On behalf of the Christian Rods & Customs International Board of Directors, we would like to thank you. We just received 4 copies of your (issue No. 13 April, 1998) through our Australian Director, Lance Nicoll. We at CR & C enjoy the contact that we have made with you, and your organisation. We both are supporting and promoting the sport of street rodding. We at CR & C are more specifically supporting the Christian ethics, doctrine and lifestyle in the hot rodding society. Our overall goals are similar and supportive of each other.
I personally, and others from the United States, CR & C members, are looking forward to meeting you at your April 2000 Un-Nationals in Cleveland, Queensland, Australia. Because of the anticipated attendance to your event in the year 2000, I would like to know if I may become an official member of the ASRF.
Again, on behalf of the Christian Rods & Customs, International, I applaud you and your efforts and thank you for the "Street Rodder News (ASRF)".
Yours in Christ,
Paul Turunen - International Board Member / CR & C's.
