The ASRF recognises VGIL Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd and Shannons Corporation Pty Ltd as its preferred insurance brokers. VGIL is underwritten by QBE Insurance Ltd, an Australian owned, publicly listed international insurer. Shannon is underwritten by Sun Alliance & Royal Insurance Australia Ltd.

Insurance is a very competitive market and premiums rise and fall. In response to market forces companies compete to attract customers. At any time each of these companies may offer differing insurance cover.
The NCC has based its recommendation on the history and level of service provided by our prefered insurers. You are not forced to use these companies, and you have the freedom of choice to make your own enquiries with other companies. However, if you want the premiums to come down, we need to increase the size of the pool. You see rodders and other car enthusiasts are only a numerically small proportion of the population, but if we all suport these companies, we can continue to negotiate a better deal for all rodders.
