It is a 69 427 .060 over. The block has been squared and deck. It has 11.5 compression, balanced, high strength rod bolts. The heads are oval port with 2.18 & 1.88 one piece stainless valves and are ported. The cam is a Competition Magnum series solid lift 5.95 lift and Crane aluminum roller rocker arms. It has and older Edelbrock Tarantula twister manifold with a 780/850 modified holly carburetor built by The Carburetor Shop in California. I also installed a electric water pump drive for more hp. And to also cool the motor in the staging lanes. The ignition uses a Mallory disturber, MSD box, and Accel wires. And finally 2" Hooker Competition headers with 3.5" outlit with 3.5" x 18" extensions. An electric Holley fuel pump and stock manual pump supplies the fuel.
The spare motor is a 427 .030 over 10.5 compression, 540 lift hydraulic cam, Edelbrock C396 intake manifold (similar to 425 hp 427 intake) with stock street heads. I have the engine kit (rings. rods, mains, oil pump, etc. to put the motor together with. It just needs bored (block is Std.) and valves ground.
The trans is a 400 turbo (no trans brake) with a 10 full competition converter (streetable). It also has a Fairbanks forward pattern manual shift kit. One drive shaft loop.
The rear end is a 12 bolt 4.11 posi. rebuilt it about a year and a half ago. The trailing arms have been boxed in with polyurethane bushings. (eliminates wheel hop) Likewise, an air bag inside the right rear spring to help transfer the weight and pant the tires. I have two sets of wheels. Welds 15x3 with Moroso 27" light weight front tires. The front wheels and tires weight only 10 lbs. The rear wheels 15x10 with Goodyear 28" x 11" slicks. The other set of are Keystone aluminum spoke like the Yencos had.
The interior is unmodified except for the tach with rev light, heat gauge, and oil gauge. White front and rear bench seat (rolled) with factory column shift. AM & FM cassette which I never got around to hooking up.
Parts not on the car but go with it are, SS hood, ft dish brakes, inner front fenders, and a few other parts. The inner front fender were plastic and were busted. I have steel to replace with.
The trailer is 18' foot with a dove tail, ramps with rear carrier, and spare tire carrier. The frame work is solid and a little heavier than most car trailers with a wooden 2' x 6" deck. It has more uses than to pull a car.
To drive it one the street all that is needed to do is to slip on the mufflers (2.5" California Turbos) which extent to the rear axle, put on the street tires, and install the alternator.( was removed to allow for electric water pump drive. Jegs and Summit sells a low mount alternator kit for around $65. I have had intentions of doing so but just not got around to it. The attempt to drive without getting tickets. The car drives good and was rattle free the last time I drove it on the highway.
To look at the car it does not look fast. To illustrate, no
narrowed rear end, stock interior, column shift. I went to Gleason
TN, to race last year and the tech took one look and mark the card and
said have fun. The third time trial I changed slicks and went a 7.08
1/8 mile.
The track owner came over to me and told me I needed a fire jacket
and really needed a roll bar. But I got a fire jacket he would let
me run. I told him I knew no one there. He returned a few minutes
later with one and told me to turn it in when I left.
The ft. bumper has a small ding in it. Both bumpers are slightly faded. They look good till a close up inspection. The drivers side carpet is a little wore with a slight crack in the dash pad.
I also have all parts taken off, SS hood, disk breaks etc.
The car is not a race car just a quick street car. While modifying
it I kept it in mind I still wanted to drive it. My son has driven it to
school a few times. I do vinyl graphics and I lettered it the
end of last year for
advertising. I have removed the vinyl stickes and letters.
They just peeled right off.
Half days work and it will be street ready.
1. Mufflers
2. Alternater
3. Street tires
4. (Optional) SS hood
5. (Optional)Inner fenders
It can be driven on the street by doing only #1, 2, 3.
