My new 383

I decided to go with a 4-bolt main block and have it torque-plate honed. It includes ARP rod bolts, 4340 forged steel crankshaft, factory rods and TRW hyperwhatever dish-top pistons.

Heads:

TPIS Stage I AFR 190s. These are 2.02/1.60s with guideplates and double valvesprings. We ran in to some problems with these heads specifically because TPIS failed to mention that the intake would have to be modified. They have 58cc chambers so with my setup I should have a CR of approximately 10.28 to 1. I had them ported and polished at a local machine shop also while they were building my motor.

Camshaft:

TPIS ZZ9. I realize that there are bigger cams out there but I bought it before I planned on the engine swap so I didn't want to waste the $300+ that it cost.

Other additional mods:

I also added the Accel Super Ram intake manifold and Crane Gold 1.6 non self-aligning roller rockers. I'm using the factory plenum (barely ported), runners and TB for now with plans to upgrade to the Super Ram plenum and runners along with the 58mm TB. The motor is almost broken in so I hope to be able to get some more ETs and dyno numbers fairly soon
