had committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.
Clyde Lensley McPhatter topped the R&B charts in 1951
with the Dominoes's R&B Hit "Sixty Minute Man"
Jackie Wilson replaced him in June of 1953
when Clyde left to form his own group, The Drifters.
On June 13, 1972, he died of a heart attack.
He was inducted into the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame in 1987
