The 1990 Ford Mustang GT




The Ford Mustang lived on with the 1990 version. The 1990 Ford Mustang was mostly a carryover from 1989, with the exception of some major exterior color changes. The GT still featured the ever popular 5.0 EFI V8. The 1989 change of a mass flow sensor remained in this year. Other similar features were casted: 60mm throttle body, 19lb-hr injectors, tuned aluminum intake plenum, E7TE truck heads, roller lifter cam, remote low-restriction air cleaner and EEC-IV electronics system. The same stainless steel exhaust and tubular headers remained. The GT handling package was also present: Progressive rate springs, 0.83 in. rear anti-sway bar, 1.3 in. front anti-sway bar, gas pressurized struts and rear quadra shocks. The same 15x7 in. wheels remained with uni-directional Goodyear gatorbacks.

The exterior changes of the GT were only color changes. The only carry-over color were Black, Oxford White, Bright Red and Cabernet Red. The same great features returned once again. Aerodynamic Nose, fog lights, ground effects package, louvered taillights, rear wing and "flush rear quarter window."

There were many changes to the features of the interior of the 1990 Mustang GT. With the presence of a driver's side airbag, the options of a Low Fuel/Coolant and Washer Fluid had to be removed, as did the tilt steering option. Other new options included the addition of a shoulder strap on the rear seat belts and new front head rests. Also on the doors, map pockets on both the drivers and passangers sides were added.
Due to weight standards, the center arm rest and fuel door lock was removed but re-added in the middle of the year.
Most of the same options carried over save the ones listed.
