
The 1987 Ford Mustang GT was the first year of the best generation of mustangs. It resulted in a major design change inside and out.
Under the hood was the new and powerful 5.0 302 V8 EFI. This was almost a 25 HP upgrade from the preceding year due to a larger throttle bore and intake plenum. The dual exhaust ports were made of stainless steel as were the headers. One major change in the 1987 Mustang, was the increased size brakes. The 10.84 inch brakes began here and went all the way to the end of the FOX 3 generation.
In 1987, many chassis changes occured. The hood became longer and more sleek, groung effects package which said, "Mustang GT" was introduced, the rear wing or spoiler was standard on GTs. The rear taillights became louvered(cheese graters). The wheels became 15x7 in size with turbine centers.
Oxford White, Dark Grey Metallic, Light Grey, Pure Black, Scarlet Red, Medium Cabernet, Medium Shadow Blue Metallic and Dark Shadow Blue Metallic.
For the interior, the seats were power operated and the dashboard was referbished.
