Rodney Cross / Alan Stean - Suzuki Baleno GTX Hatch

Debuting their Suzuki Baleno GTX at the end of the 1996 rally season, Rodney Cross and Alan Stean bring a wealth of rallying experience to the Keema Suzuki Rally Team. Cross and Stean are both veterans of Queensland rallying, and have quickly adapted to each others competition styles. The pairing will make a formidable combination in the N3 class of the 1997 Queensland Rally Championships.

The Driver: Rodney Cross

Rodney Cross many years of rally competition have provided him with an in-depth understanding of the intricacies of rally competition. After taking a break from the competitive side of rallysport, Rodneys position as sales manager at Keema Suzuki exposed him to the strengths of the Suzuki Baleno model, so much so that he has chosen the Baleno as the car in which to return to rally competition. Rodney has spent the last few events getting back 'into the groove', and is now mounting a serious challenge in the Queensland N3 rally class, finishing second in class (to teammate Tony Kabel) in the first two rounds of the 1997 Championships.

The Navigator: Alan Stean

Alans extensive navigation experience has seen him competing with some of the biggest names of Queensland and Australian rallysport. In 1997, he joins with Rodney Cross in the Keema Suzuki Rally Team Baleno, and the pairing have thrown down the gauntlet to the other Keema crews.

The Car: Suzuki Baleno GTX Hatchback

Like its sister cars in the Keema team, the Suzuki Baleno GTX of Rod Cross and Alan Stean competes in the showroom standard 'Group N' rally class, which allows limited modifications to the cars, most of which are for improving safety. The finishing record of the Keema team cars has shown the standard Suzuki Baleno model to be a top performer in its own right.
