John: 10-4.

**National Anthem** sung by George Jones**

Gentlemen! Start your engines! **introduced by Darrell Waltrip, performed by the fans**
**Engines started**
Greg: Talk to me right now, John, with everything running, make sure it sounds good to me.
John: Can you hear me? Test...1-2-3-4-5.
Greg: **breaks up**
Murf: 10-4. I heard you good, too.
Greg: Ok, John, they're finally starting to roll off up here. Should be about getting ready to get to you there.
John: Yeah. They roll and then they stop. They roll and they stop. Looks like we could do this a little **laughs** better.
Murf: John, it will be the third time by.
John: 10-4, third time by.
Greg: Pit stalls over here, John. Right in over here.
**Note:** We were pitting in front of the #41 and behind the #19
John: Right about where that oval is, huh?
Greg: Yeah, 10-4. Right there past the start of that oval. Right there, right there at the start of that oval.
Pace Laps:
John: **breaks up** they don't turn on the lights for pit road speed? There they are.
John: I'd say 3900. 3900, 2nd gear.
Greg: 10-4. 3900, 2nd gear.
Murf: John, **stepped on**
John: Okay, I've got the flag for pit road. That's pit road speed just after you get to the grass.
Murf: That guy standing there. Yeah.
Murf: John, it will be 1 to go when you get here.
John: 10-4 on 1 to go.
John: Is that somebody on the radio? Anyone hear that 'cause I don't know.
Greg: John **breaks up**
Greg: Alright I'll get the flag for you here. Alright guys let's have a good night.
Greg: Ok, John. Pace car's off now. Be ready. Be ready. Be Ready. Be ready. Green flag, John. Green flag. Green flag.
Green flag:
**Note:** (Lap 5) Running 20th. Looks a little loose in.
John: (Lap 9) It's really loose.
Murf: 10-4. Copy Gr**, John. You get that Greg?
Greg: 10-4. 10-4, John, 10-4 on the loose.
Murf: Caution's going to be out. There's a car spun down here in 4, John.
Caution Lap 10: #97 spins in Turn 4.
Greg: Alright, John. What do we need to do here? Do we need to pit and tighten you up some or..**breaks up**?
John: It's really..It's pretty loose. It's not tightening up. Seems to be getting looser.
Greg: If not, do you want some bite in it, John? Put some bite in it and see if that will tighten you up?
John: Yeah. I don't know what to do here. So I don't know if you want to pit or...I don't know what you want to do, but, I mean it's pretty loose.
Greg: You're running 20th and that's 11 laps. I mean we can come. Some of these guys are going to come and work on their stuff, I'm sure. We'll just come, John, and just hope a bunch of them come behind us.
Greg: Come down here guys and we'll get...we'll go ahead..**stepped on**
John: I think I'm much faster than I am. That's it for right now, otherwise I'm fine**stepped on**
Greg: ...round of bite in the LR.
**Note:** Greg's radio seemed a little weak which let him fade in and out while talking.
John: 240 on the water.
Greg: 10-4, John. We'll get it with a little piece of tape.
Murf: Here he comes
Pit Stop: (Lap 12) 4 tires, fuel, bite in LR. 14.38 seconds.
Greg: Go, go, go, go, go. Go hard. Go hard. Go hard. Go hard. Right there with the #9. Go, go, go, go, go.
**Note:** Pitted 20th. Back on track 22nd.
Greg: Was it mainly loose on throttle, John? Were you loose in, too?
John: Just loose everywhere.
Greg: 10-4. We put wedge in. That should tighten it up everywhere, then.
John: Are they waving off the green?
Murf: 10-4, John. They're not going to go. The #38 car is sitting here down at the bottom of 4 stopped.
John: Okay. Tell me next time because I thought we were going because they gave us 1 to go at the flagman.
Murf: Yeah I know. I didn't even hear them say anything about it until right before you said that.
Murf: Now they're saying 1 to go when you get here.
Greg: Ok, John. Pace car's off. Be ready. Be ready. Green flag, John. Green flag. Green flag.
Restart Lap 15
**Note:** (Lap 19) Harvick keeps it off the wall in Turn 4. We get by fine.
**Note:** (Lap 23) Passed #11. Passing and driving high or low.
**Note:** (Lap 25) Running 17th. Back ahead off all teams who did not pit and lead car of those teams who pitted.
Murf: Caution's out, John. There's a spin down here in 4.
Caution Lap 25: #19 spins in Turn 4.
John: Car's a lot better. Just a **pause**almost..maybe just **pause**..a little bit; it's a little bit loose in and maybe just a little bit tight off. Just a little bit, but it's a whole lot better.
Greg: 10-4. That was 14 laps, John. These other guys will probably come. Might as well come on down and get us 4 tires and we'll just stick with it like that. You're doing real good. You're just as good as the leaders. You're better than almost all of them.
John: Yeah. They've got a little older tires so they'll **pause** pick it up just a little bit. But at least I can get on the throttle, but I have to wait because of the air if I don't push the nose trying to stay on the bottom.
Greg: 10-4.
John: Water temperature's down to 210. I'm still running the fan.
John: So we'll pit with them, right?
Greg: Yeah, 10-4. We'll get in here and get 4 tires with them.
Greg: The #19 won't be here, John. He's the one who wrecked. You'll have a good shot out of here.
John: 10-4.
Murf: Pits are open.
Greg: Ok, John, here we are. Right over here. Right in here. Right in here. 4 tires guys. Give him a good one. 4 tires.
Pit Stop: (Lap 26) 4 tires, fuel. 15.53 seconds.
Greg: Go hard. **breaks up**.
**Note:** Pitted 17th. Back on track 19th.
John: Good stop guys.
Greg: What you got now? Just a little bit loose in, John, and a little bit tight?
John: Little bit loose in and a little bit tight through the middle and off. Just a little ever so slightly.
Murf: It will be 1 to go when you get here, John.
John: 10-4 on 1 to go.
John: Greg, I have time. I got the 1 to go.
Greg: 10-4. You're better than all those guys ahead of you. Where I can see you over here in 3 and 4 you were better than them all the way through. The Top 10 guys *breaks up* we'll see when we get up there to them.
Greg: Ok, John. Be ready. Pace car's off. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Green flag, John. Green flag. Green flag.
Restart Lap 29
**Note:** (Lap 39) Got by the #49 who was bottling up the pack.
**Note:** (Lap 41) 3-wide pass on the inside. Passed the #24, #12.
Murf: Clear all around. Good move, man.
**Note:** (Lap 50) Running 15th in a 4-pack: 6,24,43,99.
**Note:** (Lap 52) Got #24. Pulling away from the #99.
**Note:** (Lap 55) Got #21. Car is unbelievabley strong off the corners. Absolutely unreal.
John: (Lap 58) **Bleep**ing driver.
Murf: He's running 12th so he's probably going to want to put up a little fight.
John: Yeah, but I can't get the nose to turn behind him.
Murf: 10-4. I saw that.
**Note:** (Lap 60) #26 pinched us HARD into Turn 1.
**Note:** (Lap 61) Got #26.
John: (Lap 62) Turns are sliding all over the place.
Greg: 10-4, John. That's about half way on a fuel stop. You're still doing good with it. You're better than some of those guys up there.
**Note:** (Lap 65) Got #31. Running 11th and still gaining with the #99 running behind us.
Greg: Drive it the best you can. You're catching the #6 car. You're catching every single one.
John: What did he say?
Murf: He said you're just as fast as all those cars in front of you. You're catching them all.
Murf: Slow down, John. There's going to be a caution flag down here in 2.
Murf: Sorry about that. It's at the bottom of 3 now.
Caution Lap 68: #10??? spins in Turn 3.
Greg: Alright, John, you're just as good as the #6 car. You guys were catching every single one of those guys ahead of you except for the #48 when he's running in a little bit of traffic.
John: Loose in and I'm a little bit freer in the middle on throttle and then I don't know what I am up off on both. **pause** Tight and loose.
John: I don't really need to tighten it up at all because then I won't be able to turn it because when I get behind somebody I'm done **pause** as it is.
Greg: 10-4, John. 10-4.
Greg: We're trying to stop you forward just a little bit. That #19 won't be **breaks up**.
John: 10-4.
John: I'm still fine with the fan off.
Greg: It's just about to go away here. It's starting to go down right now behind the clouds.
Greg: Alright. Come on guys. Get 'em in here and give him 4 tires; full of fuel.
Murf: Alright guys, here they come.
Murf: There's your mark, John. He's on pit road.
Greg: Here we are, John. Right in here. Right in here. 4 tires.
Pit Stop (Lap 70) 4 tires, fuel. 15.22 seconds.
Greg: Go hard. Go hard. All the way out. All the way out. Beat the #40. Beat the #40. Beat the #40. All the way out. All the way out. All the way out.
**Note:** Pitted 11th. Back on track 10th.
Greg: The race track will probably start to change right about now. So you were pretty good in 3 and 4 **breaks up**.
John: 10-4.
Murf: John, it will be 1 to go when you get here.
John: 10-4 on 1 to go.
John: There's no lap cars?
Murf: Lap cars are coming.
Greg: Ok, John. Be ready. Pace car's off. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Green flag, John. Green flag. Green flag.
Restart Lap 73
Murf: (Lap 80) Clear all around.
John: Really? You didn't tell me about him.
**Note:** the #24 had a run off of 4 and started on the inside.
Murf: I didn't think he was going to quite make it.
**Note:** (Lap 85) Leading a 4-pack. 43,24,97,99 and we're starting to pull away.
**Note:** (lap 95) 43,24. Gaining on 8th-9th (40,20) Drove away from the 99, 97.
Murf: Caution's going to be out, John. Looks like the #12 car put down oil maybe over in Turn 2.
Caution Lap 101: #12 blows up in Turn 2.
Greg: **breaks up**.
John: I need to be a little bit better in. I think I'm okay off I just need to be better in.
Greg: What's it doing on **breaks up**?
John: I'm really using the brakes to get into 3.
Greg: Did that bite help it getting in at all, John? Could we put just a little bit of bite in it?
John: Well, then I think I'll be too tight off.
Greg: I'm going to drop the left side air pressure a little bit.
John: Just don't make me too loose in the middle, but I think that will be okay. Just a half pound on the left side. Let's just stick with it until the sun goes down behind the clouds and then start adjusting on it because otherwise it's too hard to adjust it.
Greg: 10-4, 10-4. I thought that sun was going to stay away. It's almost gone over that bleecher right now.
Greg: Alright guys. Be ready. Let's give him a good one. 4 tires.
John: They haven't given you an extra man yet, have they?
Greg: No, no.
Murf: Alright guys. Here he comes. He's on pit road.
Greg: Over here. Head it up. Over here. Right in here. Right in here. 4 tires, guys. Come on. 4 tires. Give him a good one.
Pit Stop: (Lap 103) 4 tires, fuel. 15.88 seconds.
Greg: Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
**Note:** Pitted 10th. Back on track 12th.
John: Did the #99 get 4?
Greg: The #99, he pitted out of sequence. He thought he had a flat tire or something earlier.
John: Oh, 10-4.
Murf: 1 to go this time, John.
John: Pretty dirty up in 1 and 2.
Murf: They're still saying 1 to go.
John: Okay.
Murf: Alright, John, the lap cars are finally starting to come up through here.
Greg: Ok, John. Pace car's off. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Green flag, John. Green flag. Green flag. Green flag.
Restart Lap 108
**Note:** (Lap 110) Pinned on the outside. #41 by. #2, #9 tried, but held them off. Horsepower off of the corners is TOTALLY incredible.
**Note:** (Lap 114) #2 by, but gaining as we follow.
**Note:** (lap 118) #2 by #41. John next.
**Note:** Losing lots of time. Stuck behind the #41. #41 stuck behind the #25 (lap down) and will not get out of the way. Holding everyone up.
**Note:** (Lap 125) FINALLY by the #25.
Murf: Turn 2, John. Caution is out.
Caution Lap 130: #22 blows the RF in the front stretch.
Murf: #25 is on your outside.
Greg: **breaks up**
John: I think the car's pretty good right there.
Greg: Alright, John. **breaks up**
John: Do what?
John: What did you ask me?
Greg: That #41 is in the pit behind us so we're going to have to come in around him. **breaks up**
John: I can't understand anything you're saying.
Greg: The #41 is in the pit behind us so we're just going to have to come in around him when we come in the pits, John.
John: 10-4.
Murf: You guys, he's on pit road.
Greg: In front of the #41. Right in here, John. Right here. 4 tires.
Pit Stop: (Lap 131) 4 tires, fuel. 13.91 seconds.
**Note:** Pitted 14th. Back on track 12th.
Greg: Go, go, go, go, go, go hard, go hard, go hard. All the way out, John. All the way out. Nobody coming. All the way out. All the way out.
John: Great stop. Great job.
Greg: **breaks up**
John: Your radio's breaking up really bad and I switched radios here. So maybe you can switch radios there, Greg.
**Note:** I really didn't think it was my reception, but had my doubts. I was putting on my antenna during the cautions, but it wasn't helping.
Murf: John, it will be 1 to go when you get here.
John: 10-4 on 1 to go.
Greg: Alright, can you here me right now, John?
John: Yeah, that's good.
**Note:** Much, much better!
John: The minute they can send that guy over pull this windshield strip.
Greg: 10-4. They've been talking about it and asking about it.
Greg: Ok, John. Pace car's off. Let's be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Green flag, John. Green flag. Green flag.
Restart Lap 136
**Note:** (Lap 146) Losing lots and lots of time. The #25 AGAIN is fighting the pack. We're running: 15, 43, 31 and the rest behind us.
**Note:** (Lap 149) Finally got the #25. The #25 really lost a lot of track time to everyone. Still running 12th.
**Note:** Kyle on the permanent scoreboard in 19th.
Murf: John there is a car in the wall over here in 4. Caution's out. Caution is out. He's come down pit road.
Caution Lap 162: #1 spins in Turn 4.
Greg: Ok, John, what's it doing right there? You're better than you look. You just got caught up on that restart. That #25...he's an **bleep**.
John: Yeah, 10-4. The car's pretty decent. I gotta just let it roll into the corner because I'm still a bit too loose getting in. But then once I get back in the throttle I feel pretty good about it.
Greg: Is it tight up off at all, John?
John: Just a hair. It's equal at both ends.
John: It's not like I'm pushing. It's not up to snuff.
Greg: Ok, 10-4. 10-4.
John: It's like I've got to really load the car getting in. If I go up and arc it I don't load the rear hard enough to get into the corner. I think as the track picks up grip that will help, you know, it will help me then it will help me load earlier.
Greg: Yeah, that last 20 laps is the first that Turn 3 has been in the shade so that might come in a little bit better over there.
Greg: Alright guys, let's get ready. Let's have a good one here. 4 tires.
Greg: We'll have open pit stalls here, I think, on both sides of us, John.
John: 10-4.
Murf: Here they come guys.
Greg: Ok, right over here. Right in here, guys. 4 tires. 4 tires.
Pit Stop: (Lap 164) 4 tires, fuel. 14.25 seconds.
Greg: Go, go, go, go, go, go hard, go hard, go hard. All the way out, John. All the way out. All the way. Beat the #40, beat the #40. There you go bud.
**Note:** Pitted 12th. Back on track 7th.
John: Good stop.
Greg: How's your temperatures, John? They come down any?
John: Yeah, it's been running about 210.
Greg: Alright, Murf, I don't know where that **bleep** #25 is going to line up, but let's get by him in about the first 2 or 3 laps if we can. He just kills everybody he gets next to. I mean he just don't give anybody a break.
Murf: 10-4. We'll work on him if we have to this time.
Murf: 1 to go when you get here, John.
John: 10-4 on 1 to go.
Murf: Alright, John, NOW it will be 1 to go when you get here.
John: 10-4.
Greg: That #48 is leading again, John. He's been taking off real early back there so I'll try to help you all I can. He just takes off and goes when he gets ready.
John: 10-4.
Greg: They got on him last time so he might be a little more cautious this time.
Greg: Pace car's off. Be ready, John. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Green flag, John. Green flag. Green flag. Green flag.
Restart Lap 166
**Note:** (Lap 170) #15 by. We're pinned behind the #4.
John: (lap 174) Now it's starting to get too tight off.
Greg: 10-4, 10-4.
John: Just off of 4.
**Note:** (Lap 176) by the #25. No problem at all this time.
Kyle up to 17th. Re-started in a pack of 10+ cars. Drove through them and pulling away.
John: (Lap 192) It's getting too tight up off.
Murf: 10-4 on too tight off.
John: (lap 194) Tight. Too loose in. Too tight off.
**Note:** Only being said coming out of 4.
Greg: (Lap 204) That was a good lap up top. If you can stand keep it running up there like that, Murf, that was real good last lap.
John: (Lap 206) Brakes are really fading.
John: (Lap 209) You've got to clear me so I cut out to the wall.
Greg: (Lap 223) John, we're going to come this time for gas. Going to come this time for gas. #18's clear, clear, clear.
John: What do you want to do?
Murf: You've got to pit this time for gas, John.
Greg: We're going to pit, John. Pit this time, John. Pit this time.
Murf: Alright, guys, here he comes. Right there's your mark, John.
Greg: Ok, John. Here we are down here. Right on down here. Come on. Come on.
Pit stop (Lap 224) 4 tires, fuel. 14.09 seconds.
Greg: Go, go, go, go, go, go hard, go hard, go hard, John. Go!
Kyle's' Pit Stop (Lap 229) 4 tires, fuel. 15.13 seconds.
John: (Lap 230) Feels like there's not a lot of air in the RR.
Greg: Is it ok, John? Look at it, Murf, make sure the RR has got air in it if you can see it. It looks okay from here.
John: (Lap 234) It's not good. Now I'm too loose.
John: (Lap 240) I don't like this.
John: (Lap 252) I'm just sliding. I'm not tight. I'm not loose. I'm just sliding.
Murf: 10-4 on the sliding.
John: It goes tight, then it goes loose, then it goes tight, then it goes loose. Hard as hell to drive.
Murf: Spin in 4, John. Caution did come out.
Caution Lap 256: #19 wrecks in Turn 4.
Greg: Alright, John, I went up a pound and a half, a pound on the RR and took one round of wedge out. It's just tight all over the place?
John: It's just terrible. I don't like it at all. I can't get in. I can't get through the middle. I just can't do anything with it. It wants to jump LF,RR. I'm not very good like that.
Greg: Alright, I got that RR air pressure back down to where we were. You want to leave the round of bite out or do you think the tires, that other set of tires are just real tight?
John: I'm mostly loose. The thing is tight, jumps loose, tight, jumps loose. It's, it's..**pause** It just doesn't have grip. It's no good the way it is. I don't know if we got...took a little bite out of it or what, but I don't like it. We need to do something with air pressure, put the bite back.
Greg: Yeah, 10-4. We're going to go back there.
Greg: **to the tire men** Go back on that. Yeah. Down. Yeah.
Murf: Alright, guys. Here they come.
Greg: Ok, John. Right over here. Right in front of this #40. Okay. Right in here. Right in here. 4 tires, guys. Get the round of bite in her.
John: Are we taking a round of another round of bite out? I don't WANT to take a round of bite out.
Greg: Putting it IN. PUTTING IT IN.
Pit Stop (Lap 258) 4 tires, fuel, round of bite in. 14.28 seconds.
Greg: Go, go, go, go, go, go, go!
**Note:** Pitted 14th. Back on track 12th.
John: I think we needed to race in the sun with this thing.
Greg: 10-4. I'm just looking at all these tires to make sure we didn't have **breaks up** on the tires. We're back like we were. We'll just have to see and make sure it ain't going to be too tight. If it's too tight we'll have to go to the front and do something and try to help it to turn.
John: Alright. Can you **pause** is there a way to take pressure out of the RF or are we already as low as we can go?
Greg: Yeah, we can probably do a little more than that if we have to. Maybe a little on both fronts or take something like more out of the RF and a little out of the LF this next stop if it's going to be too tight again.
John: Yeah, 10-4. That's what it kind of feels like. It feels like the front's too stiff.
John: You still up there, Murf?
Murf: 10-4. I'm up here. I'm just watching **pause** make laps. They're picking everything up on the track out there right now.
John: Okay, 10-4.
Murf: Alright, John, now it will be 1 to go when you get here.
John: 10-4.
Greg: Ok, John. Pace car's off. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Green flag, John. Green flag. Green flag. Green flag.
Restart Lap 267
Murf: Caution's going to be out, John. Caution is out.
Caution Lap 269: #99 blows up in Turn 1.
Murf: The caution's for somebody either hit the wall or blew up or something over here in 1 and 2.
Murf: The #99. Look like it blew up.
Greg: Be ready here guys in case some of these guys just might come down here just to make it. We're going to be about 7 laps short on fuel so we might just come if some of them come, John.
John: 10-4.
John: You know the Roush cars can make it.
John: Keep an eye behind Murf, there.
Murf: Whose behind you? The #5 car's behind you.
Greg: Nobody's coming yet. Nobody's coming yet. Nobody's coming.
John: We almost need to come with 1 to go, but then you've got to hope it goes green the rest of the way.
Greg: Yeah, right now it would be too much to give up right now to do that.
John: 10-4.
Murf: It will be 1 to go when you get here, John.
John: 10-4.
Murf: Alright, John. They are not going to go. They are not going to go.
John: 10-4. They're not going.
Murf: 10-4. They are not going.
Greg: Pit road is closed. They're blowing it over here. They're going to blow pit road is why.
John: It looks like 1 and 2 can be blown because it's not like we're cleaning it up by running through it.
Murf: Yeah. There's no intention of blowing it. It's 1 to go when you get here, John.
John: Ok, 10-4.
Kyle pits and tops off the tank.
Greg: Ok, John. Pace car's off. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Green flag, John. Green flag. Green flag. Green flag.
Restart Lap 278
John: (Lap 305) Now I'm too tight up off.
Murf: 10-4 on too tight off.
**Note:** We're still gaining and not dropping back.
John: (Lap 325) We need a caution bad. It's pushing.
Greg: Alright we'll pit this next time. We're going to pit this next time. 4 tires. Pit this next time.
Murf: Alright, guys. Here he comes. There's your mark, John.
John: Where are you at?
Greg: Alright. Right on down here, John. Right in here. Right in here. Here we are. Right in here. 4 tires, guys. 4 tires.
Pit Stop (Lap 329) 4 tires, fuel. 15.25 seconds.
Greg: Go, go, go, go, go, go, go!
Kyle's Pit Stop (Lap 337) 4 tires, fuel. 16.09 seconds.
**Note:** (Lap 338) Running 16th, 1 lap down.
**Note:** (Lap 350) Turns 1 and 2. #97 almost took us out. Nice save by John. Lost a fair amount of time.

John: You there, Greg?
Greg: Yeah, 10-4. I'm just trying to think of what else we can do. We tried just about everything. Nothing's done anything different for it.
John: Yeah. You try lowering the front tire pressure?
Greg: Yeah we went down a pound that last time, John. We went down a pound on both fronts that last time.
John: 10-4.
John: Okay, just go up, RR.
Murf: Alright, guys. Here he comes.

John: 10-4.
Greg: That #23 and them guys are a lap down to you, John, if they'll let you around. I don't know if they will or not. You should be able to line up up front if you can get up there.
John: No, it doesn't look like they're going to let me up there.
Greg: Alright, 10-4. We'll have to get a good restart here.
Greg: Ok, pace car's off, John. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Be ready. Green flag, John. Green flag. Green flag.

John: Tell Rusty, "He's welcome".
Greg: The #4 and the #18 behind you are on our lap. The #4 and the #18 back there behind you are on our lap.
**Note:** They would both pass us.
Murf: 10 to go.
Murf: Easy, John. Whoa. Keep digging. No caution. Keep digging.
**Note:** (Lap 396) #4 spins in Turn 4. No caution. We get by fine.
