Drag racers will go from 0 to 314 MPH in a quarter of a mile. A quarter of a mile is roughly one lap around a football field. Imagine the "g" forces the drivers must feel. I guess it would be like getting shot out of a gun. |

John Force doing one of his notorious burn outs. On his way to a 300+ MPH run. These cars and the Top Fuel cars are so loud that your whole body will shake when they go by. It was all I could do to take the pictures I got. They were so loud that they set off car alarms in the parking lot. |
| This 300+ MPH Top Fuel car is owned by Joe Gibbs, the former Washington Redskins coach, and driven by Cory McClenathon. Joe had a winning team on the football field and he has a winning team on the quarter mile. Joe also owns a NASCAR team that is a top contender. Interstate Batteries is the sponsor and Bobby Labonte is the driver. | |
I don't have many pictures from the drag races, so if you have any that you would like to see on this page please let me know by email. Thanks Tom |
