Manufacture's Point
Championship Scoring
Finishing Position
| First | 9 Points |
| Second | 6 Points |
| Third | 4 Points |
| Fourth | 3 Points |
| Fifth | 2 Points |
| Sixth | 1 Point |
The manufacturer receives points only for the best (highest) finishing position, regardless of how many similar models are in top finishing positions. For example, if Pontiac finishes 1st and 2nd and ford finishes 3rd and 4th, then Pontiac would receive 9 points and ford would receive six points and so on down the line to the 6th position.. |
