Before And After

BEFORE AND AFTER

THE 1973 EL CAMINO SS

the body of this El Camino overall was in excellent shape

there was a little rust on the back wheel wells and your "usual" road pecks
so what we did was repair the rust strip it down to the metal prime and paint back original color (GM #11) White with Black SS stripes
we put new wheel well moldings, weather stripping, vinyl top, new back bumper and added cargo rails and "made to fit" Tonneau cover
the engine was originally a 350 2 barrel i rebuilt a 327 out of a Impala SS (1969) put some 300 heads on it a new Carter competition carb and a "few" chrome "dress up" pieces for looks
now the interior was a little shabby so i took some POWER leather buckets seats out of a Chrysler New Yorker modified some brackets and stuck them in there...i like comfort
i painted all of the interior molding, dash, door panels with matching charcoal gray vinyl paint new carpet and headliner
some other things added was factory gages, stereo radio, a console, stick shift, tilt, cruise, remote RIGHT mirror, sport steering wheel and POWER windows and locks (did i mention i am also LAZY!)
so there you have it "The Finished"

1973 EL CAMINO SS

closing comments: i restored this 1973 EL CAMINO SS to the original color and all exterior to what it came out of the factory paint, stripes and vinyl top i added the cosmetics of the cargo rails and tonneau cover and some SS spinner hubcaps (1968 Impala i think) the interior i had FUN with for my comfort!!
