While searching for a truck to do household chores, I kept looking at the many classic Chevy trucks available. I really like the '60 to '72 Chevies but I had a concern over weight ratings. Most with these trucks today use them like a big hot rod, with maybe a cooler and a dirt bike as the heaviest load they will carry. But I needed to pull an enclosed car trailer which is heavy. I want a classic, but I want to work my classic.
So I searched the Web to find information of GVWR of these old trucks and couldn't find any. In fact, if it isn't a new Chevy, there is no information at all. And it is nearly impossible to find the GAWR for the front or the rear.
The survey form has been removed. I've collected quite a bit of data and will be adding it to the table in the future.
I've also collected quite a bit of spam. Thank the spammers for the form going away. For every valid survey I got, I probably got around 20 invalid ones and about 30 pieces of spam.
So for now, I think the information I have will suffice for anyone searching and for me. It covers a wide spectrum of the Chevy trucks and let's face it, no one is using a '54 Chevy truck to pull a big trailer unless they have fully reworked the truck, and then all the original weight ratings do not apply anymore.
You might send information on how heavy of a trailer you have hauled. If you have had it on a scale, great. If not, you can guess like a 3500 pound car on a 1500 pound open trailer would 5000 pounds or a 4000 pound car in a 2800 pound 24 ft. enclosed trailer. Email it to . I'm especially interested in hearing from S10 owners as I've heard they will carry and tow a lot more than most believe.
Thanks

Note: The above information is all based on survey input.
If something is wrong, it is due to input. Some people referred
to 3/4 ton trucks as C25 when only C20 was in use and vice
versa. Some had obviously wrong weight ratings. Please do not use this as fact, but as reference.
