1967 Chevy II Nova Station Wagon

This is my 67 Nova. This car had been rescued from a junkyard in 1992 for the sum of $200 and this car keeps getting in better and better shape as time goes on. This was supposed to be a parts car (really!) for my other Nova projects, but this car was in too good a shape to cut up. When I got this car, New Hampshire was in the process on instituting a burdernsone, expensive and unrealistic emission inspection program (forced upon by the EPA, of course) that would have made it very difficult to keep an old car new enough to require emission controls on the road, and so I was to phase out driving cars made with catalytic converters in favor of cars like this - pre-EPA models, so for this car just being a pre-1968 car by itself made it very desirable for me to keep intact and on the road. With a new motor, a new front suspension, all new brake hardware, an update to HEI electronic ignition, entirely new cooling system components, new front reproduction floor pans, one new fender (so far) and new dogleg/wheel arches and a custom-made class III hitch, this car has become a very dependable and servicable driver. It has the 250 cubic inch inline six that has gobs of torque coupled to a 3-speed "three-on-the-tree" transmission. The engine and the rest of the car is very simple to do maintanence to (and I get an average of 20 MPG on regular gas). I do all maintanence and repair work (including the bodywork) myself. It only visits the garage for tires, front end alignment and for annual safety sticker time. I trust this car enough to go on long trips with it (and I have - numerous times). Once all the bodywork is complete, it will receive a complete paint job (as this is still the original factory paint).
