The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is named after the famous Canadian driver who thrilled F1 fans with his
winning attitude. The circuit is built on the man made Ile de Notre Dame in the centre of the St. Lawrence seaway.
The Island was built for Expo '67. The track itself is a cross between a street circuit and a permanent road course
with a mixture of slow tricky corners and fast sweeping sections.
The first race at the circuit was won by local hero Giles Villeneuve.
