The No. 6 variant of the Buenos Aires track is 2.646 miles long and has 17 turns. The Argentine GP made a return to the calendar in 1995 after a fourteen year break. The race is usually run in very hot weather and it is not unusual to have less than ten cars finish. The Argentine Grand Prix ran from 1957 - 1960 and then from 1972 - 1981. The circuit named the October 17 Autodrome was built in 1952, opening in the March of that year. After Peron died it was renamed the Municipal Autodrome. The track has many variants which make it suited for all styles of motor racing. Formula 1 has used the number 2 (1957 - 1960), number 9 (1972 - 1973), number 15 (1974 - 1981) and now number 6 (1995 - present) variants. Official home of the Argentina Grand Prix.
