The lettering above the wall facing Merrick Rd. said "Freeport Municipal Stadium", here clearly visible in the background. Like many of us, I'll never forget that great old place, but like many of us also, I don't have any old pictures to look over, just memories. When I saw "LaSheef's" photos, I almost flipped! They put me back inside Freeport Speedway again and unlocked fond memories that were fading or forgotten. And LaSheef has redefined for me the meaning of the word 'friend'...thanks most of all for that... |
