Dedication
I was in attendance at Pocono International Raceway, Pennsylvania for the NASCAR Modified Race of Champions and witnessed the crash that took the life of driver Don Pratt. It's the first and only time I was ever at an event in which one of the competitors perished. It's a day I'll always remember, though I'd like to forget.
After Pratt's death, I lost interest in racing for about a year. It took a long time to feel better. Eventually I rediscovered that racing is a great sport, and the dangers involved must be accepted by the fans as well as the participants. And in the end, we must find comfort in knowing that Don Pratt died doing what he loved, racing. I'll never forget him and dedicate
"Pops' Racing Site" in his memory.
