| The Mercedes-Benz SS and SSK, built from 1928, were sportier versions of the S with a output of 200 or 250 bhp instead of 180. SSK means Super Sport Kurz denoting the shorter chassis. There was also the SSKL (Leicht) weighting "only" 1500 kg. Although registerred for the road this museum car is only occationally fired up strictly following the rules laid down in "Kurzte Betriebsanleitung für Typ SS und SSK" (92 pages). |
