Scandinavian Seaways Cup information
Scandinavian Seaways Cup is a semi-endurance racing series organised by BMC Motorsport, the Scandinavian equivalent of the Mini Se7en Racing Club in the UK, and effectively the sporting arm of both the Mini Seven Club Sweden and Mini Club Sweden. During 1996, the quadruplet of four-hour races took in not only Anderstorp, but also Mantorp (formerly a Formula 2 circuit), Kinnekulle and Gellersen. Very much dependant on the efforts of the teams, the races are won by a mixture of pace and half-an-eye on reliability, with each car having at least two drivers, and sometimes three or four. No one driver is allowed to drive more than a certain time and each team is responsible for their own lap-scoring. This is a foolproof method however, as the scorers have to constantly check off each lap against a running timer. Simple!
