Jensen Motors

Jensen Motors Limited have been producing coach built cars since the mid 1930's. Always at the fore of chassis design, Jensen built some amazing aluminium lorrys and trucks. These beautiful Reynolds tube trucks established Jensen's reputation for innovation and advanced designs. However, it was the onset of the Second World War that showed Jensen's versatility. They turned their hands to Sherman Tanks, Ambulances and Fire Engines. After the war, the Interceptor took them into the early 50's.

In 1953 Jensen launched the 541. This elegant extremely low drag 4 seater was one of the first production cars to use disc brakes on all four wheels. It was also the first production car with a fibreglass body. This quick, beautifully shaped car turned many heads with its clean and simple leather interiour, wire wheels and straight six engine. Fortunately, a large proportion of the 500 or so cars produced survive, the revolutionary fibreglass body survives all weathers.

The 60's saw Jensen introduce the CV8, also with a fibreglass body. The combination of 300+bhp V8 engine, limited slip powerloc differential, light fibreglass 4 seater body, electrically adjustable ride control and disc brakes on all four wheels made this a very practical express. The addition of an alternator, another first on a production car, underlines the fact that Jensen didn't just make motor vehicles, they also made history.
