Vignale Bodied FF No. 6 is For Sale, £25,750.

This FF, a rare and early car in its current excellent condition, is probably one of only 3 roadworthy survivors in the UK with Vignale wood inlay trim.
Any structural inspection should confirm that this car is in fact extremely solid.

From Brooklands, to London's most fashionable districts: this FF never looks out of place...

With the rare and exclusive interior of the Vignale bodied FF: Very elegant, even by Jensen standards...

Jensen Club meeting, Brooklands paddock:

The car is in very good condition, with recently re-cored radiator, new front discs, new front and rear springs and dampers. The car won 3rd place in the Jensen Owners Club 2000 Concourse. The car is excellent underneath, and had no problem passing its recent MOT inspection. The car still retains many of its original Vingale features.

Another interesting feature is this rare Vignale front bumper. The square top corner edge of the front numberplate holder is quite different to the later West Brom offering...

Evidence of a fresh re-bore, along with a decent quality replacement timing chain were visible when I removed the sump. The early cars were originally fitted with nylon coated timing gears. These age poorly, and bits crack off and fall into the sump, with possibly disaterous consequences. Thankfully, this car has an all steel replacement. It is always worth cleaning out the sump on a new aquisition. Sometimes the chains are replaced by careless mechanics, leaving bits of the old nylon in the sump. Not in this case, fortunately.

All steel timing chain and a fresh bore...

The all important 4 Wheel drive, heart of the FF concept. The serial number of the 6th production transmission is clearly visible below:

History of 119/006.

The car was purchased from new by Peter Hall, RAF Pilot in WW2. He carried out many daring raids over German occupied europe, and was eventually shot down over Holland in 1943. Peter was then taken to Stallag Luft 3 as a POW. With a keen eye for detail, he forged many documents in the camp, and the character "The Forger" was based on him in the film, "The Great Escape"! Peter was also master of his local hunt. His previous car was a then new Aston Martin DB6, and the story goes that he was unhappy with the hadling, and left the car crashed in a ditch, and phoned the Aston factory, telling them he nolonger wanted the car, and that it was in the ditch for them to collect!

For an extra £500 above the new price of a DB6, Peter took delivery of what was widely acclaimed to be the world's most advanced car, The Jensen FF. No 6 was his car. Hall obviously like the car, and soon ordered another a couple of years later. In a letter to the factory comparing the two, he noted that the newer Mk1 FF was quieter, but not quite as fast as No 6. The car lived in Tourquay with it's new owner until 1979, when it went to California, where it was owned by a Holywood Stuntman. In the late 80's it came back to England when John Ford bought the car. John woned the car until May 2000, doing about 599 dry miles a year. I bought the car in May, and have done a couple of thousand miles in it since then. I use it rarely, and it was not the brightest idea for me to buy it, as I had 6 FF's already. Those are for sale too. This is the most appealing of the cars I own, and is very keenly priced.

An extra large woodrim steering wheel was specified from new....
