Home of the Classic Kat

Welcome to our humble home...the home of our 2 cougars. We presently own a 1969 Convertible Cougar and a 1994 XR-7 Cougar.

My first car was a '69 Cougar XR-7. It had leather interior, power windows, 351 W 4 bbl, dual exhaust, and a vinyl roof. After buying that car, I was hooked on Cougars. Unfortunately, it was written off in an accident just 2 weeks and 5 days after the purchase of the car.

In April of 1995, my wife and I were making preparations for our upcoming wedding. We were glancing through "The TriAd", a newspaper for buying and selling anything. We saw the ad for a convertible '69 Cougar. We called and it was still available. We went on the three hour drive. Knowing my infatuation with Cougar's, I was hoping it would not be restorable, because if it was,I knew I would buy...even if I couldn't afford it.

When we got there, it was rough, but restorable. So we bought it...for $1500 on the condition that I could finnish the car in time to use for our wedding!!!. The guy even loaned me his trailor to tow it home with! What a sight, a small Nissan Pick-up towing a 2200 lb trailer and a 3500 lb car!! No problem. No one believe that my wife and I would actually finish the car in time. Even some professional body guys and mechanics said "no way". They weren't counting on our determination. My wife and I spent long hours at the shop, working on the car. Our wedding date was August 12,1995. The car was completed and legal for the road on August 11,1995 at 7:15 pm!!!!!Aside from the cougar stalling a couple of times, the wedding went off without a hitch.
