The Last Patrol
By: L. Bryant
Youre in our thoughts and prayers, my friend;
The horror of the way it was to end.
There was no chance to defend his life,
No final words to his kids and wife.
An extra job for an extra buck
Wrong place, wrong time; was just bad luck.
Admired by many, trusted by all
He was always there for a back-up call.
He settled disputes, arrested his share
But always showed how much he cared.
Whatever the job he showed he had pride
Right up until the day that he died.
Our loss is great; we can not mask it
A public servant brought home in a casket.
We bid you good-bye - an officer slain.
With words on our lips he wont die in vain.
His killers have freedom, at least for now.
We will bring them to justice, sometime, somehow.
Till we meet again, when were all 10-7.
Rest peaceful, Will, on patrol in heaven.

In memory of my friend and co-worker:

Deputy Wilburn Agy
