VW Motorsport's VSR Intake Mainfold

VSR maifoldBottom view comparison of the Stock (left) and VSR (right) intake manifolds. You can see the vacuum controlled valve between the two middle runners.

Top of VSRTop view of VSR intake manifold. Big bucks, ...but was it worth every penny? At the time it was the only "bolt on" that really gave real low end torque (except a turbo).

Before I had to get rid of this car, I sold this VSR unit to Darell at Techtonics Tuning. This is the manifold he did his testing on. He liked it as well, but just lust like me, he thought it was too expensive.
Too bad you can't get this part from VW Motorsport anymore, I read that they stopped production. But all is not lost in the world of VR6 intake manifolds. Schrick now makes the manifold in a three piece design, which is actually larger inside than the Motorsport VSR. Not only do you get the big time low end torque of the VSR, but you get some real hp on top. The Motorsport VSR never really gave much of an increase in peak hp.
