This page is devoted to helping you with the in's and out's of your modem to modem connections ( or should I say the cussing and swearing of modem connections). Some of these my be very obvious to you more experianced racers but neverless they are sometimes over looked.
Before you make the call
Insure that you have the proper modem settings within the game.DOS users (How I recommend running Nascar2) may not beable to find your modem com port , most CPU manfactures offer a AZT patch which will enable your CPU to reconize your modem port while is DOS. If you experiance this type of problem.
Have the same version of the game as your racing partner.
Who is ever hosting the game must have the CD.
Deactivate call waiting within your game settings or else you will get cut off if someone trys calling your number.
Have all necessary idems in your car with you ie: pop , ciggs , snacks , or what ever you choose because there is no pauseing the game.
After you connect
Try to connect with transmission delays of 0.07 - 0.13 a blinking phone icon means a poor connection
By pushing the "control & "Y" keys together will show you the consistancy of your transmission delays.
Host player controlls all game options.
Try to race with few graphics and a moderate amount of AI cars.
This is the only part of the game where you can truly chat. During the race you can push "control" & one of the "F1 , F2 , F3...."keys to send preset messages to your racing partner , these can be changed to reflect what you what to say within your game.
While on the track
When an accident occurs and there is a big pile up try not to race everyone back to the line , sometimes its more than your CPU can handle and the cars just kinda get stuck in the position their in and dont move.
If what's above happens you or your racing partner can drive to the front of the pile up and bump the car that's holding things up. In most cases this will get things going agian.
After taking the yellow at the start line slow right down this will enable the other AI cars to slow down also and not blow by the entire field. Sometims causing things to get hung up agian.
