Special Report:
Larry Dwyers Ami6 Story

Being and AMI6 owner in the US is unusual - I've only seen 3 of them myself, but know that there are several more here on the West coast.

My car was sold new in California, and spent most of the time in the Silicon Valley. I bought it from a guy who put three parts cars together to create it. It was a Club model with four round headlights.

The day after I bought it, a 16-year-old girl crashed into it and crushed the front, the hood, and the left front fender and door. Terrible! Now the car is somewhat back together, but has rectangular European headlights and needs to be painted.

It is a very unusual car here in California and gets a lot of attention. It can be hard to find parts here. Mechanical parts are not too bad, but it's very hard to get lenses, trim pieces, etc...

Thanks!

Special Report:
l'Ami de papa
(Daddy's AMI6)

It's the first memory I have about a car. It was a beautiful Rouge cornaline AMI6, with a white roof and a very very souple suspension. The music of the 602cc motor is still playing today in my ears. It's maybe because when I could ride a car I bought a 1976 2cv which I still have today with its originals engine and clutch and 160.000 kilometers on the speedmeter. Riding this sort of car is so pleasant that my wife is the first to jump at the keys every morning... So that's why I'm searching now a 1967, 1968 or 1969 AMI6 to listen to the nice music of the legendar French 2 cylenders flat win. I live in Marseille in the south of France and I hope being possible for me to come to the 12th concentration of 2cv and derivates maybe riding my new AMI6, maybe with my actual blue and blue 2cv. Anyway here's a beautiful picture of the wonderfull car taken by my mother in 1968 near Millau (Aveyron). The little boy seated on the hood is now writing this words on his Macintosh to run it on the web. The man near me is my daddy of course. Today, he also ride a Citroën but it's a ZX (nobody is perfect...) Then may have a look to a picture with the real colors of my 2cv with my adress in the windshield. What a wonderful e-mail ! See you and many congratulations for your pages from France.
