Autobiography

Hello !!

The first thing that always surprises almost every one is that my name is William, but I didn't have any choice in the matter. You see, in Europe, back in 1964, Viva l'America was on every ones lipps, and my parents were not imuned to the disease. Unfortunately, they only had enough financial ressources to make it to Montreal rather then New York.

Allthough I am italian, I was actually born in Grenoble, but I have really only lived there from age 6 to 10. The rest of my life was in Montreal. But my roots remain in Corato, a very small city near Bari. I am fortunate to have multiple nationalities. Italian by inheritance, french by birth, and canadian by imigration. I'll probably also have american in a not too distant future since it is where I plan on living and working next.

The second thing that I am sked a lot is where did I come up with my nicknames. Well, Exoticar is self explained. The other one, which is not very popular these days in Italy, because of its polical implications, was stuck on me back in the early eighties when Italy won the Mundial. Every one was chanting Forza Italia, and I had paraded a lot that night. Football, or soccer as it is knowned in North America, is a very popular sport for the rest of the planet.

I'm asked at times what my interests in life are. While there is no use denying that automobile take a very big part in my life, I also have other interests. Besides a certain passion for some motorcycles, I enjoy numerous activities that aren't motorized. I like horseback riding very much. I used to ride a few years back on a regular basis almost every week, be it summer or winter. And until you've riden a horse in winter on a snowy day or in the woods at night, with the moon reflecting on the snow, then you've never really riden.

The present loves of my life are my two dogs. Jeanny is my oldest and is a cross between a Shepperd and a Dobberman, although she may have a little distant Dalmatian in her. Uno is a pure Siberian Usky. And one of her particularity is her eyes. Most Huskies have blue, grey or sometimes both eyes of a different color, but when was the last time you saw a dog with gold eyes?

I may like some ofthe finer things in life, but I'm quite confortable also with some of the simpler things. Whereas some would love to take a vacation at the Ritz, I am happier when camping. When asked about the thigs I like to do .... it's usually easier to reply with the very few things I don't like. Be it foods or activites, as long as I have the pleasure of sharing the experiences with someone close to me, I'm usually quite happy and open. Just don't ask me to go bungee-jumping.

What do I do for a living!?? Nothing at the moment. As of September 1996 I've been on a sabatical by choice. Needed some time to re-evalutate my professional future. My previous wok experiences have been various however. From numerous years related to the automobile industry to the limelight of a very popular night club DJ, from the down and dirty to the every day suit. For my previous year of employement I had taken up up truck driving. Being always drawn to travels and driving, it was a good way to do both and get paid for it on top of it all. I foresee in the near future the possibility of continuing to drive for a few more year, or maybe teach french in the U.S. or even maybe work in tourism related industries. But my long term goal will be to eventually become a car manufacturer. Not as a major player of course, more like a small independant coachbuilder.

..... more to come .....
