Here it is, one of my all time favorite cars: My 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. I bought this car when I was in college at Iowa State University. It was mid-February and I saw this car advertised in the paper for $2000. Decided to go look at it and immediately fell in love.
The car has the Olds 403 (yuck!), TH350, WS6 suspension with 4 wheel disk brakes, posi rear end, T-Tops, Tan cloth interior, and nice Pioneer stereo. Next to my 93 Z28, this is one of the best handling rear wheel drive cars I have ever driven and it has decent power, too. This car is a definite head turner. The previous owner had the body completely stripped, all rust removed, and repainted the Metallic, Royal Blue. It has gold metallic flakes in it that match perfect with the gold emblems and bird on the hood. It also has the gold stock wheels.
I had the tranny rebuilt and added a shift kit and 2200 rpm stall converter. I also added 3.73 gears and had the carb rebuilt. It has true dual exhasut and the chrome, stock turn down tips at the back. This car definitely moves for having 142,000 miles on a motor that has never been opened up. It will run mid to high 13's and purr on the highway.
This is the only picture I have right now. Will have more when I get them scanned.
