----------------
About JamMan
----------------

JAM Manager (JamMan) is not a JAM-File Editor.

JamMan uses Trevor Kellaways DOS-Command Line Converter 'GP2JAM' to convert the
JAM-Files into BMP-Files and back to JAM.

JamMan is like a shell for 'GP2JAM', so you do not need to type the command
line.

JamMan also launches the BMP-File using your favorit BMP-Editor like 'PSP'.

Features:

Internal BMP-Viewer with zoom function (can also be used on JAM's).

Thumbnail for fast BMP-preview.

'Convert All' function for Car-JAM's.

----------------
Where To Get The Files
----------------

Download JamMan 1.2 at http://207.158.202.105/GP2/ as jamman12.zip.

JAMMAN 1.2 also can be found in Compuserve in GO SPRTSIMS, Lib#6 (Motorsports)
as JAMMAN12.ZIP.

In Lib#14 (Racing Circuits) you can find GP2JAM as GP2JAM.ZIP, or you can find
it on TK's homepage: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/tkellaway/

----------------
Installation
----------------

Unpack all JAMMAN Files to the same directory where GP2JAM resists.

Open Program Manager 'File - New - Program' and Browse for JAMMAN.EXE in the
directory you choosed for JAMMAN and GP2JAM.

Start JAMMAN.
On the first start you will get to the Preference Box:
Fill in the complete PATH and FILENAME of your favorit Bitmap Editor like 'PSP'
in the Edit-field called 'Path Of BMP-Editor' or browse for it.
Fill in the complete PATH and FILENAME of GP2JAM in the Edit-field called 'Path
Of GP2JAM' or browse for it.

Now you are ready to use JAMMAN.

!! IMPORTANT !!

JAMMAN places the *.JAM Files and the *.BMP Files in the same directory, so:

- Be sure to have a backup of your relevant files in the case of something went
wrong.

- Please read the GP2JAM.TXT you'll find in TK's GP2JAM.ZIP.

- To convert a downloaded BITMAP-File into a JAM-File, be sure to have the
Destination-JAM-File in the same directory - GP2JAM does not create the
JAM-File, it only can update an existing JAM-File.

----------------
Notes
----------------

Doubleclicking or pressing the 'Enter Key' on a File in the FileListBox starts
the internal BMP-Viewer. This also works on JAM's.

ESCAPE-Key closes the BMP-Viewer.

The CheckBox called 'Overwrite Existing Files' will activate the '-y' switch
for GP2JAM.

From release 1.2 you will find the 'Convert All' DOS-Routines called JM_JB.COM
for JAM --> BMP and JM_BJ.COM for BMP --> JAM in the JamMan archive.
These programms do convert all existing files from one imageformat to the other
(On BMP-->JAM only if both exists in the same directory).
I decided to do this function in DOS, because I don't want to switch my monitor
14 times between a DOS and a WIN screen.
Do not place your JAM's to deep in the directory tree, because the params for
launching the DOS routines will get to long - JamMan will tell you if this is
the case.
You can use this routines as standalone programms if you place it in the JAM's
directory together with GP2JAM.
