We posted a message to the list saying "we are meeting at Watford Gap
sevices at 12noon on March 2nd '97, be there if you want to".
The response was great. About 10 minis turned up and we went for a little
burn around the country and found a pub for a beer and a bite to eat. The
whole day was very simple in plans and very enjoyable for those who went.
Nice and simple. Meet up, drive around, find a pub. We called this Mini List
Meet 1 (MLM1) and planned to do it again in a month or two.
The MLM's never looked back. We hold a meet whenever the urge for driving
excitement and barmaids in short skirts gets too much. [Reference to MLM4 - Ed.]
On average we meet up about every 3 months. Each time a different lister(s)
organise the venue/pub/etc.
The next one...
MLM9 - November 98, Rotherthorpe serv. M1 J15a, 12noon, meet up and burn around and go to a pub in Towcester which Paul Slootweg is organising.
Yes!! The more the merrier.
Of course! Look for me (rugged chin, looks like Tom Cruise, real nice bloke) or John Bullas (if he's there, fat bloke, red wooley hat, loud, purple camoflage trousers), Paul Slootweg (speaking to lorry drivers in any language you like, and then climbing on top of their trailers), or any other lister.
We are a friendly bunch and everyone will no doubt be have a right laugh at my paintwork and 'floating' oil cooler.
Here you go!
See you at Rothersthorpe. Wherever you are, some listers may well be convoying from that area. Come along, it is great fun and if you want to chat minis then we are the people!
