About My Car.

The Mini is a 1979 Austin 850, The MG Metro exists no longer, except the useful bits which have either been used on the Mini or which are cluttering up my garage.(Like the Brakes and other odds and ends.)

As you can see I started on the car by removing the front bumper. It has rotted away completely and I though I'd fit a spoiler. I haven't found one of those yet.

I have removed the chrome trim from the bonnet to get the MK I look and added bonnet straps (help to keep the bonnet closed - something the bonnet catch doesn't manage all the time), but the front still looks a little bare. I'd like to get the moustache type grille and a set of lights to smarten up the front.
At the moment the grill has been painted yellow (Hammerite :) to match the car.

To disguise some minor rust patches onthe doors I've added some Borg implants in keeping with th car's character.

Rear View

The rear is a little tatty from the nudge bars that were originally fitted on the car. I'd like to fit a second tank, not only for aesthetic reasons, but also to increase the available fuel supply for the 1275 A+ engine from the MG Metro.

850 Engine

This was the original 850 engine, except I have now fitted the MG Metro engine and you'll also notice the LOUD!! air horns on the left in the engine bay.

New Bonnet

The front has now been spruced up with some nice bonnet stripes and Mk2 Austin Cooper S badge.

New Boot

The boot lid has also had the Mini Cooper S badge added, and a second tank fitted. (OK - so it isn't. It's a dummy :)

New Look

Just added - the latest in looks - a new set of wheels! (and I've added a front towing eye - just in case.) OK, so the wheels are just new to my car, but a nice set of Compomotive 12" alloys was just what I needed. Good looking, and just that little bit different.
