Since buying this bike in November '97, I've only done about 1000 miles, but I'm really starting to get used to her. This is my first bike so I don't want to kill myself yet! I've started to ride her up to the redline in the first 3 gears, but have discovered that she can shake her head pretty violently on badly surfaced roads. I've made a shopping list of things I want on her this year.
1. WP steering damper. Stops all that shaking on bumpy roads.
2. Dynojet kit and Race end can. Noisier and faster!
3. Paint the wheels black. Makes all the brake hardware stand out
more, looks different.
4. Black screen. Looks cool.
5. Rear hugger, painted blue like the front fender.
6. Braided brake lines. Looks good, stops sponginess (like there
is any!)
7. Smaller license plate. Stock UK one's are 9" x 7",
so I'll fit an illegal one that looks better (and can't be read
as easily!)
This little lot should keep my credit card happy for a while. Of course if you happen to be a vendor of any of the above, and you want to do a deal, e-mail me on [email protected]. I'd be happy to do some advertising for you!
There is a dark cloud on the horizon though. I am being tempted by another bike. I love my Suzuki, but there is a wilder, better looking model calling out my name. Yamaha R1. I think I may go and see my Yamaha dealer next year...
