Stupid
As a cab driver I am always amazed at how stupid people can be.
This story was related to me by another driver whom I will call "Sam". Now, I do know sam personally and also the other driver that was involved.
Sam picks up this young black man. He is dressed well and wearing alot of gold. He dosn't really go to far. When he arrives at the destination he pays the meter amount and instructs sam to wait.
Sam lets the meter run, probably only about $3.00 he says. When the fellow comes out of the house he tells Sam to go on he dosn't need him anymore. Sam tells him that he owes him the three bucks. the fellow says screw off in colorful terms.
The fellow takes off, while Sam, in pursuit, gives the dispatcher a physical description of the fellow he is chasing. He loses him when he runs through a yard and between two houses.
So it just happens there is this other cabdriver in the same neighborhood. He hears the description but, misunderstands and thinks its a robbery.
He spots the guy coming out a couple blocks over. Jumping out of his cab he chases him and catches him. Holding him until the police arrive.
The police do their job and decide to arrest him. While searching him they find a large amount of cash and crack cocaine. Needless to say he spent some time behind bars.
I just have to ask myself, wouldn't it have been easier to just give him the three bucks?
