The first car I ever drove or owned, it was a green Talbot Sunbeam L, 928cc
engine, registration WFW 644W. My mum bought it in 1981, and I eventually
bought it in 1992 whilst I was at university. I scrapped it in 1994 after it
failed it's MOT for the second time, mainly because it was more rust than
metal.
It was a great car to learn to drive in. High driving position meant excellent visibility, and well layed out, simple controls never violated the principle of least astonishment.
I'm afraid I haven't been able to find any decent photos of McDuff, as it was called. Instead I've included a photo of a Sunbeam Ti used for rallying.
